Cordoba 15CM-E Concert Ukulele - Sunburst Reviews
The stage-ready 15CM-E acoustic-electric ukulele is Cordoba's first concert-sized uke to feature electronics. This all-mahogany instrument delivers well-balanced tone, excellent dynamic range, and a large helping of overtones. The 15CM-E's concert-sized body produces a healthy level of projection and volume. Cordoba goes beyond great playability, though, adding features like an abalone rosette and ivoroid binding that aren't normally found on a ukelele at this price. For a great-sounding, great-playing uke at a great price, you can't beat the Cordoba 15CM-E acoustic-electric ukulele.

Very beautiful ukele. I almost bought a cheaper one , but so happy I got this instead. Great sound and craftsmanship.
Córdoba ukulele
Best Uke for the money. Just got mine a few weeks ago and can't stop playing it!!
My first ukelele
I am enjoying learning to play this ukulele. I really like the sound. I think it's a a good beginner's uke that sounds good and doesn't cost a lot of money.
Good value
Feels solid and well made. Sounds great and easy to play. Bought it for my daughter to learn on...she's hardly put it down.
Needed a new Ukulele -This one was great.
My wife decided she wanted to learn the Ukulele and that she like my old one. I needed a new one. After doing a lot of research I picked the one from Sweetwater. I am very pleased with it. It holds it's tune well and sounds great. I highly recommend it.
Sweet ukulele
This ukulele has great tone, holds its tuning and is comfortable to play. It is also great looking. It would have received a full five-star rating if the sound were just a little less high-end. Sweetwater makes choosing and purchasing very easy with their prompt, professional response to any and all questions, and their eagerness to be sure that you love your purchase.
Nice sounding uke
This is a great sounding uke for the price. Nice natural open pore finish. The electronics are okay but great for the money I guess. My only complaint is the fretboard. The wood is so dry. I oiled it up a ton but it was still so audibly rough. Bending strings makes a scratching sound. Fine for strumming chords. Not great for fingerstyle. So keep that in mind.
cordoba 15cm-e
In thoroughly impressed with the sound quality of this uke. I gave it time before offering a review to break it in and besides the stock strings leaving more to be desired which is often the case this is a quality ukulele with warm jazzy tone.
Just OK...but...
Bought ours about a year ago. I was a newbie to ukes then. Know more now and moving up to something better. The Cordoba was represented on Sweerwater as having "solid" Mahogany top. It turns out that this is not so. I now know that in ukulele parlance, "solid mahogany" means just that, while just "mahogany" means mahogany veneer laminated over a lesser wood...often thin plywood. This is very important for the top, which effects most of the tone. The sides and back are less important, though of course all solid is best of all. This ukulele does indeed sound sweet but compared to solid tops it is a bit dull sounding... which is typical of entry-level laminated ukes. Different sellers used differing confusing words on this issue. I finally had to call Cordoba themselves. They told me that at this price point all of their instruments a laminate. Still this little Uke is decent sounding for its price point so I kept it. The longer scale length than typical concerts was a major selling point for me. A good feature.
Appearance and workmanship are good. The binding and soundhole inlay give a rich but not gaudy look.
The setup was not great. I had read how important setup is and since I was actually buying 2 ukes (the other not pertinent to this review) I asked Sweetwater to do a setup on them for me. They said "No. Not at this price point." When I buy ukes now I insist on a setup. The Cordoba had and has a slight rattle which I have been unable to locate either before or after doing my own setup. I suspect the internal electrics.
The electrics themselves are weak. As with most passive (no battery) Piezos, it really needs a preamp to punch up and tweak the signal before the main amp. In our local Uke circle I am the soloist that does lead breaks. I use a Bose Sound Dock (a small portable amp) attached to the back of my music stand to give me that extra gas to rise above the background strummers. That works fine for my current Uke which has active electrics (battery powered and built in pre-amp), but the Cordoba"s passive setup does not do the job on its own.
All in all a decent entry level Uke for those that want to try out Uke playing but who doen"t want to start out at el cheapo rock bottom.
