Here is an exceptional ukulele featuring a truly unique tonewood with a tonal signature unlike any other— bocote. This Central and South American wood offers a well-rounded, rich tone and has an equally one-of-a-kind look as well: dramatic dark browns, black striping, and gorgeous knotted eyes. Gorgeous
This is a beautiful instrument, with a nice sound. I don't have any other ukuleles to compare it to, but I'm pretty happy with it. Seems to be intonated pretty well, and the finish is a bit more glossy than the pictures show. No problems so far.
Great Ukulele
Just bought this great Cordoba which sounds and looks great. Great quality and craftsmanship. I highly recommend this purchase.
Sweet Demo
I wanted to add a concert uke to my growing collection but could not afford and expensive one. When I saw this available as a demo in very good condition, the reviews and price made the decision for me. What a sweet little uke! Though laminate, the sound is pretty clean and a little sassy. Being a Jersey girl, I like that. The top of mine is darker than the Sweetwater photo, but the back is lighter. I love it. Will install strap buttons and it will be perfect.
Great Uke
So I too received a darker colored Uke than the picture but I prefer the darker color and the sound is marvelous. I really enjoy the color, sound and size.
Beautiful grain. So far, so good.
Just got this guy in the mail today.... very fitting for a new uke to arrive on Israel's 61st birthday (god bless). This thing sounds great, nice, and full. So far the tuning has held pretty well.
As for the look, I saw that some people were upset with eh grain on their uke being blander than the one pictured. However, natural variation in wood makes an instrument unique. My uke has an awesome knotty and funky grain pattern that makes it one of a kind. So far id says give this uke a shot..... and as always the guys at sweetwater are top notch, great communication, and quick shipping! I can't ask for more.
Beautiful!
I love this company. Not only is the ukulele beautiful, Michael worked really hard to make sure my daughter was happy with her purchase. Seriously texted until the confusion and successfully choosing the right one was complete. The wood grains are all apparently different as nature does that, so when she received it and it looked different, he helped us find one that was the grain texture she wanted. It sounds amazing too. Incredible customer service. Thank you.
WOW !!!!!
This concert ukulele.....blows me away! Great sound, sustain, and looks!
The workmanship is outstanding, for this price. Cordoba is known for great guitars, and now they
have passed that on to their ukuleles. Don't pass this one up. It just begs to be played.
I think I hear it calling me.........
Pina Coladas and Balmy Island Breezes!
I LOVE this uke! The Bocote tone wood not only looks gorgeous, but the tone of this uke is great! It has a nice tonal range from mellow to bright! Tone woods can affect the sound of an instrument, and I was so happy when I got my uke and strummed my first few chords! Beautiful! Since I'm too poor to afford vacations, I 'go' on vacation by playing my music! heh.. and this Concert uke does just that! -- and it's so affordable, and it's a Cordoba! Need I say more? OK! The folks at Sweetwater are top-notch in what they do, and so friendly and helpful. So if you're considering this uke.. just go ahead, and take the plunge! [Yes, I'm dreaming of snorkeling in the Tropics LOL].. Join me on a vacation to the Islands and get one of these fine ukulele's! I had to review it.. IMHO, it is a very nice ukulele.
Wonderfully made and great price, but be forewarned about the photo...
I was going to buy the standard mahogany 15CM but sorta fell hard for the Bocote wood of the 15CB, so I splurged the extra $... The 15CB is pretty, wonderfully crafted and sounds great, but I feel compelled to warn folks that the wood in my uke wasn't as contrasty or honey-toned as the picture.
This is wood so there will always be natural variation, but my instrument is muddier in appearance than the photograph (I'm guessing someone turned up the contrast on the photo to feature the grain).
The abalone inlay and pearl tuners are very nice touches and a ukulele-playing friend said it looked and played like a ukulele that cost a lot more than it did.
So far I'm happy with it and think it's a good value. Also noticed in a prior review that Sweetwater will work with you to try and find the kind of grain you're looking for out of their stock.
I'm giving it five stars because of the craftsmanship and price, but feel people should buy one with their eyes open.
Fun little Uke
Being new to the world of Ukulele, wanted to get something that was affordable yet durable. This Uke definitely has great sound and is tons of fun! Easy to get started if one already knows a bit of guitar. Only initial issue I have is I've noticed a bit of slip when tuning (even after stretching out the strings). This could be to the Uke just being new and having to get acclimated.
Highly recommended if you're just starting out -- sure I'll have fun with this for years to come!
Thanks again Sweetwater!
Meh
I guess with all of these other glowing reviews I was expecting something to blow me away. I didn't like the feel of the fretboard, the nut is high so the action is high, and also that abalone is just a decal. Meh. The sound/tone is nice though.
