MOTU 112D 112x112 Thunderbolt / USB 2.0 Audio Interface with AVB Reviews

112-channel Hybrid Thunderbolt/USB 2.0/iOS Audio Interface with Routing, Format Conversion, Mixing, and Networking Functionality - Mac/PC

The MOTU 112D is an incredibly flexible device. A digital audio interface, router, format converter, and stand-alone mixer — all in a roadworthy, rackmount 1U chassis, the 112D connects to your host computer through ultra-fast Thunderbolt technology, AVB Ethernet, or class compliant, high-speed USB 2.0 (with USB 3.0 and iOS compatibility). The 112D rocks 24 channels of AES/EBU digital I/O, 24 channels of ADAT optical digital I/O and 64 channels of MADI — that's a whopping total of 112 simultaneous digital I/O channels! Freely route anything, anywhere — all with near-zero latency. At Sweetwater, we've seen our share of feature-packed interfaces, but the 112D may just take the cake. Whether you work your audio magic in the studio or onstage, you owe it to yourself to check out the MOTU 112D.

Does what it is supposed to do and without fuss. MOTU has made great leaps these past years. Their drivers are rock solid now and their support is fantastic

Centre of my Audio universe

Essentially a massive digital audio router in 1 rack mount. Using for two years in a constantly changing digital studio. Connects. Audio from anywhere to anywhere in a huge in /out grid. I route madi from a rme Madiface XT to any digital audio device . I found the latency to be undetectable so far on hard to manage latency software plug ins . I would be stuck to manage connectivity to all the different digital devices with just madi and analog.

Right now it does not support Optical Madi and there is no analog outs so a DAC of any kind is mandatory if you need to hear it, a little headphone monitor out wouldn't go amiss if just to confirm audio is the audio it is supposed to be,more utility than significant use cause this big of a router you can get lost easily. A joy to use , monitor remotely via iPad, and a necessity for routing lmedium to large digital

configurations, IMP (in my opinion ). LOVE IT
