I have a mid 90s Hot Rod deluxe 112 and this foot switch works great and switches all just fine!

Drive / More Drive Footswitch

By JW on November 30, 2022 Music Background: Guitar / Amp tech. 20+ years

The pedal is built well and sturdy. Even though all the parts, jack, LEDs and switches are mounted to a circuit board. It does what it is should do. It's a footswitch. The only thing that would make it any better is a 3rd button to turn reverb on and off.

Works Great

Simple design, easy to use, and it does exactly what I wanted it to. Excellent value.

Does the trick

By David White from GERMANTOWN, NY on May 20, 2021 Music Background: Musician - 17+ years, Recording Engineer - 3+ years

I got a used Fender Deville a little while back, and after falling in love with it decided to find a replacement footswitch as the original had been long lost. Sweetwater had this guy cheaper and more clearly listed than anywhere else I could find at the time. After using it for a bit I can say it most certainly works just fine and is quite durable. I'd seen some reviews saying it wasn't great but there's very little plastic involved and it seems very sturdy to me. Aside from the pedal itself, the Sweetwater sales team/service can't be beat keeping my purchases worry-free.

A very Good Price and a Very Good Footswitch

By Walter Read from Hudson Valley on March 26, 2021 Music Background: Played Gigs for the last 54 years, original music for the last 27 years

I have no doubts that after 52 years this foot switch will still be working very well like the one for my 69 Fender Twin is. This footswitch is very well made and stays where you put it even without a pedal board. The switches are silent and spaced so they are really easy to use. I would have like it to be a 3 button switch to control the Reverb too. The Clean/Gain and Gain/More gain switches are all they can do with a 3 conductor cable and jacks/plugs so it's likely a separate cable would be necessary anyway.
A very Good Price and a Very Good Footswitch. The Right Size and Very Strong. Silent and you can feel the click very well. It is WAY better than reaching over to push the buttons on the Amp Panel.

Great foot switch

By Jeff from Rogers Ar on April 10, 2018

Bought a fender 212r without the foot switch. Like always Sweetwater came through. Every thing matched up and works flawlessly. You're the best guys, thanks again

Excellent footswitch!

By Jonathan E from Ypsilanti Twp, MI on March 9, 2018 Music Background: Passion. Hobby. Musician

This footswitch is a great product! It came with and works perfectly with my Fender HRD iii and ALSO works with my Fender Mustang 1 V2 amp. The channel select button switches between two channels on the Mustang amp flawlessly. The footswitch is built like a tank and has never let me down. Any negative reviews on this footswitch should just be ignored because it rocks! Get one and you'll love it!

Hot Rod pedal replacement

By Byron Cloy from Kennesaw, GA on July 19, 2018 Music Background: Drummer, live sound engineer, lover of gear.

I originally had to buy this replacement pedal because the original pedal was lost during a move. I have had the amp since 1996, and this little guy is a necessity because you can switch between the "three" different channels on the amp Clean, Drive, and More Drive. I have to say the original pedal they made was cheap as all get out, super light and just cheapo feeling. However this one is beefier and heavy so you won't knock it around or break it as easily. I took off a half star because the cable used to connect it to the amp that came with this is totally unsexy. It's a cheap looking very weak looking cable, but it does the job. If they could put in a much nicer heavy cloth wrapped cable or just something that matches all the other unbalanced cables that would be great. However we probably all have a few extra's laying around that could do the job, so it's certainly no reason to no get this pedal if you need a replacement for your hot rod. If you have an older model with the cheapo one that has the plastic top and fluted aluminum sides this is a good upgrade.

Would'nt want to play without it

By Kim Bailey from Hammond In. on August 25, 2012 Music Background: Pro musician.

It was included when I bought my 2-12R frontman. It beats walking back and fourth pushing buttons. It's super heavey duty, and I'm shure it will last many year's

Great service Jason provides in sales and pedal arrived in 2 days. I have always been impressed with service and gear from Sweetwater which when I do buy new gear or equipment over the years I call Jason here at Sweetwater.

Fender Channel Switch

By Jerry Dye from Wayzata, MN USA on December 25, 2012 Music Background: Nearly 50 years, semi-pro, bass & guitar. Recording & live sound.

This footswitch seems to be a bit more substantial than the earlier Fender model. It's a footswitch & it seems to work just fine. I like it.

2 Button Footswitch

By Michael Donner from Oceanside, CA on February 20, 2012 Music Background: Guitar player 12yrs Guitarist for "Great Electric Quest"

It works but is difficult to use in a live situation the black plasctic sides stick up an 1/8th of an inch making it difficult to properly switch the channels. I often step on it and it cant tell that if I am trying to change the channel or not so it switches back and forth and sometimes I get this quick crackling noise during the channel change that is obviously not good when your changing to the clean channel and you hear this crackle. I have never had this problem with a footswitch before.
