Love these strings
My 2007 Jazz Bass came stock with these strings. They feel and sound great on a Jazz bass. The taper wound Low E string lets the string sit a little lower on the saddle,so its not a lot higher than the 3rd string.I fingerpick and don't do much slapping,so they last a long time for me.The price is great too!
Fender screwed up a good thing!
These strings are not what they used to be. I used the 8250M strings for years until they changed manufacturer and now they are totally different. No more colored silk at each end, harder to wind on narrow tuning pegs, a stiffer cable-like feel with no piano-string vibe from the instrument, and an over-toning quality that is nerve racking. The taper on the E string is not as thin either resulting in less springiness. Now they have colored ball ends. Who is this for? If you need colored ball ends to determine which string is which you shouldn't be playing the instrument. Very disappointed in Fender now, need to find another brand that will give me the punchy clean driving tone I used to get.
