Payton Vieth
My name is Payton Vieth and I look forward to being your personal Sales Engineer here at Sweetwater! I grew up around Fort Wayne, IN. Which means I've gotten to watch Sweetwater grow for most of my life! My love for music began when I was 9 years old and got my very first iPod nano. This moment changed everything.
I love music all around, but my favorite genre's are Hard Rock and Metal! My main instrument is guitar and I have been playing since I was 11 or 12 years old. I had gotten a cheap all in one guitar bundle from a big box store for Christmas. I had tried taking lessons with one of my dads friends who played guitar, but at that age the lessons didn't really interest me. That was until, my cousin picked up an old guitar that his parents had laying around in the basement and started learning some of the music I was into. After he had taught his brother some stuff on acoustic, I went and grabbed my electric and asked him to teach me how to learn the stuff he was playing Although,I am mostly self-taught, I have taken bout two years worth of lessons at Sweetwater's Academy of Music. I currently have about eight guitars in my collection and I'm always looking to add more. I played guitar in Marching Band & Pep-Band in high school. I have now started recreationally recording some of my own ideas and am currently working on turning them into songs.
Throughout my career I have learned a lot. I've learned from mistakes I've made and mistakes others around me have made. One of my biggest passions is helping people throughout their musical journey. As a consumer of most of Sweetwater's products myself, I am confident that I can help any and all musicians find their sound!
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Why did you first apply for a job at Sweetwater?
Working as a sales engineer has always been somewhat of a dream for me. Being local, I've been a customer for most of my life, so I've gotten to see the company grow, first hand, into the company that it is today. Not to mention I have been recommending gear that Sweetwater sells to my friends for years, so I knew this would be a perfect fit!

Favorite music-related website:
My favorite one right now is Sheethappenspublishing.com! They a variety of products such as picks, Vinyl, prints, and most importantly tablature/Sheet-music. The reason I love this website is because all of the sheet-music/tabs have to be approved by the artists, and the artists fine tune the sheet-music/tabs to the exact way that they play them.
