Nithin Chinthapalli
My passion for music developed through my ventures in the local music scene while I was studying Media Production at the University of North Carolina. I initially started my career in concert photography working with college bands, but the influx of backstage passes quickly fueled my spark for live music. I began to attend shows religiously, showing up early with the bands when I could, and learning from everyone involved in the show: musicians, sound guys, roadies, instrument techs, and more.
I spent the majority of my time in college wearing many different hats in the local scene: agent, promoter, and sound engineer, among others, working closely with bands and musicians to set up, promote, and execute live shows. I initially started working with DIY and house shows, and later worked with a local bar (shout-out to Clouds) to design and build their stage and sound system to accommodate local and touring bands on a weekly basis.
My time in the fast-paced DIY scene has taught me the importance of establishing personal relationships in live music, as well as given me the determination to believe in myself and the musicians around me to solve any problem that might come up live- the show must go on.
Now, as a Sales Engineer, I strive to continue helping bands, musicians, and venues achieve their goals, whether that be recording albums, hosting touring acts, playing shows on the road night after night, or anything else that one might need for success in the music industry.
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Personal motto:
"Turn right to go left"
- Doc Hudson, "Cars"
This quote is very personal to me. I have seen the movie Cars over 400 times, and at one point in my life could recite the script from memory. This quote, as I interpret it, means that often the solution to a problem is not the obvious one, and is often a contradictory one. Think outside the box. -
If you could chill with any musicians, past or present, who would you want to hang out with?
Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Slash, Kevin Parker, Chester Bennington, Prince, and BB King.
