Nick Reedy
I've spent a lot of my life working in a wide variety of different places in the audio industry. My introduction into music as a whole started when I became interested in jazz trumpet way back in high school. Since then, my focus shifted throughout college to be more in the recording studio. This environment was brand new to me back then, and provided a lot of opportunities for new challenges and mental growth.
Since starting my career in the audio industry, I've been fortunate enough to learn a lot about many different aspects of different audio fields. Despite focusing on music recording in college, the last few years I have gained familiarity with sound for film and post production, on set audio, sound designing for video games, and most recently, live sound.
Every day I like to try new things and to challenge myself to learn more in the growing audio field. I hope you can join me in growing our personal skills and knowledge together. I absolutely love to help people make the right choices that will benefit them for a long time, and I will happily help you achieve your goals and dreams.

What was your occupation before coming to Sweetwater?
Lead AV Technican

Why did you first apply for a job at Sweetwater?
COVID happened and unfortunately the Live conference industry had taken a huge hit. I've been interested in Sweetwater for awhile, and I felt it was the right next step!

Technical strengths:
Digital Recording, all things computers, live sound, lighting, video, video game design.

Instruments you play:
Used to play Trumpet, Tuba, and a bit of Piano. Currently interested in learning Guitar and getting back into the piano / keyboard.

Gear you own:
I'm fairly frugal so I don't current own a lot of gear. I do have a few pieces that I really love. My headphones of choice have been the Sennheiser HD600 for a very long time, and I doubt I'll choose any other pair. I also own a Personus 1824c as my main interface. My main microphone so far has been the Rode Procaster microphone, which I find to be a fantastic alternative to the SM7B. I also use an Avid Artist Mix as my control surface with Pro Tools which I love as well for mixing.

Other stuff we should know about you (hobbies, talents, interests, etc.):
Love to game and big into new technology. I'm a PC guy and love building and expanding my workstation whenever I can. Love being around people and having a good laugh. What we do doesn't really matter, as long as I'm with good people.

What did you dream about doing for a living when you were growing up?
I really wanted to work in the video game industry.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the Sweetwater team?
Everyone is amazing here. The team here has been one of the most welcoming and warm group of people I have ever met in my career.
