Kyle Sorensen
Kyle Sorensen
I joined Sweetwater in August 2023 after graduating from The Blackbird Academy's Studio Engineering program in March of that same year. At Blackbird, I had over 300 hours of learning from some of the most highly-respected names in the industry, as well as 300 hours of hands-on experience with one of the finest collections of audio gear in the world. I had an additional 170 hours working in Blackbird Studios as a lead and assistant engineer recording student projects.
Prior to attending Blackbird, I went to college at Elon University in North Carolina. Although I ended up with a Creative Writing degree, I realized in the second half of my time there that my true passion was audio, and from that point on I spent all of my free time in the recording studios on campus, gaining as much knowledge as I could and honing my skills over thousands of hours of practical application. During that time, I was effectively a member of the studio staff team, overseeing hundreds of sessions and helping students with mic selection and placement, patchbay navigation, Pro Tools shortcuts, signal flow, recording, mixing, and many other tasks related to audio. I really enjoyed using my knowledge to help others, and I saw Sweetwater as an opportunity to continue doing that for my customers. I look forward to developing relationships with all of my customers and helping them achieve their musical dreams for years to come!
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.
