Daniel Sierra
Daniel Sierra
I began my musical career as a drummer in San Juan, Puerto Rico. By age 15, I was playing live and recording with a handful of local groups. My evolving interest in music led me to study at Berklee College of Music, where I majored in performance with a minor in studio recording techniques. Upon finishing my studies and returning to Puerto Rico, I launched what was to become a 12-year teaching career.
During that time, I participated in a number of musical projects, both as a core member and session musician. This busy period in my career saw me performing regularly, recording, going on tour, and playing at prominent US festivals such as Levitation and SXSW in Austin, TX.
My growing interest in music production led me to work as a recording engineer and co-producer at Casa Fantasmes, which provided the knowledge and skills necessary to build my current synth-based home studio. I’ve since used my production space for sound design and commercial and personal projects.
At the end of the day, I most enjoy spending time with my lovely spouse and four pets. Cooking, long conversations over some drinks, and exploring the outdoors make up the core of our time together. I also enjoy cycling, reading, and repairing just about anything around the house.
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.
