Hands On Review: DigiTech iStomp

Imagine a stompbox that you can instantly change to produce any effect you want. This may sound like a dream, but it very accurately describes the DigiTech iStomp. The iStomp looks and feels like any other pedal, with a solid metal chassis, four control knobs, and mono and stereo 1/4″ input and output jacks. But there’s an extra multi-pin connector on the side. Hook that connector up to your iPhone or iPad using the supplied cable, and the fun begins. The iStomp is simply a blank slate onto which you can load any effect you choose, using the free Stomp Shop app.

DigiTech has stocked the Stomp Shop with a wide variety of optional effects that you can purchase, from pedal standards such as overdrive and delay to effects derived from high-end Lexicon processors, such as Angelic Choir. And they’re adding new effects all the time.
iStomp comes loaded with the Redline overdrive and the Total Recall delay — for free. And additional effects cost far less than a new pedal, making the iStomp the highest bang-for-your-buck pedal around!

But price aside, the iStomp is a great pedal that nails excellent sounds and is built like a brick. Never be stuck without the effect you need at a session or gig. With iStomp, you’re covered.
