need expert on Yamaha sound module mu128

Hi there, I'm totally confused with instruction manual for this module. I really want to be able to do a velocity split and LH/RH instrument split but can't get round the terms described in maual. Parts, midi channels etc.
If someone has one of these or thinks they could help I could email the PDF of the manual.
Here's hoping.
