High Fidelity Remote-control 8-channel Mic Preamplifier There is something about the way a quality piece of equipment looks and feels that makes it a pleasure to use. And when it performs as superbly as it looks, well, it's a home run. The m802 is the successor to the Grace 801r remote control mic preamplifier. Up to 64 channels of m802 can be addressed by a single remote control unit from up to 1000' away. New features include full MIDI implementation, interface/control support for Digidesign Pro Tools|HD and compatible control surfaces, an optional state of the art reference 24/192kHz A/D converter card and per-channel availability of 130V phantom power for DPA microphones. Grace started with the model 801 microphone preamplifier and then endeavored to make it easily and practically remote controllable. We envisioned an elegant software platform that could precisely control the analog circuit, without compromising audio performance. Through exhaustive research and development, Grace created the LNLDTM (low noise, low distortion) digital gain control cell. This proprietary technology allows seamless digital remote control while maintaining the preamplifier's high fidelity sonic performance. The model m802's elegant, robust control platform is totally intuitive and completely reliable. The user interface is easily navigated and reliably controls all preamplifier functions, so any recording engineer can simply turn it on and go. The model m802 boasts the identical sonic performance as the venerable model 801- its detail, clarity and transparency are unrivaled and its remarkable bandwidth (15Hz-300kHz) and headroom are essential for today's high-resolution recording systems. The Grace m802 is simply the most refined, evolved microphone preamplifier technology available Alone, the model m802 is a high-fidelity eight-channel outboard microphone preamplifier. Add the optional RCU (remote control unit) and up to 8 model m802s (64 channels) can be easily controlled from up to 1000 feet away. With this powerful feature set, model m802 creates a level of functionality and performance never before available with conventional mic preamplifier designs.
