On the I/O side, this unit has a microphone preamp with switchable phantom power and sensitivity, an auxiliary input, a headphone output, and stereo XLR outs. Pitch correction, harmony, and so much more
With the BOSS VE-22 in tow, you can achieve almost any vocal sound under the sun. To start, the unit has a switchable harmony generator you can use to layer vocals and crate lush chords that follow your singing. There’s also pitch correction to lend a more professional sheen to the signal. From there, you can add reverb and delay to taste. Each parameter is adjustable via the three dedicated knobs next to the screen.
A vocal effects library at your feet
BOSS designed the VE-22 to be ready to go right out of the box. It comes equipped with 50 factory presets to give you a broad range of sounds for experimentation. The factory sounds range from subtle sweetening to all-out computerized vocals straight out of the early 2000s. That’s not all, though. The VE-22 allows you to create and store your own presets. Once you craft the perfect vocal patch, you can save it into one of the 99 user preset slots. It all adds up to the capability of storing 149 possible presets, all available at the touch of a button.
Doubles as an audio interface
The VE-22 is more than an amazing tool for live performance — you can use it to record your voice, too. BOSS tells Sweetwater that the pedal has a USB-C connector and an onboard audio interface. Plugging it into your computer via the USB-C port lets the user record performances, practice sessions, or vocal tracks straight into your DAW, so you never lose anything.
