Amazing Value - Amazing Recordings!

At one of our "mic shootouts" here at Sweetwater, we put the AT3035 large-diaphragm recording mic up against other studio mics three or four times the price. The result? In every match the AT3035 came through with flying colors. Designed to bring some classic warmth to today's digital recording studio, the cardioid-pattern AT3035 shines on acoustic instruments and vocals. Every aspect of the AT3035 has been tailored for a very smooth, natural sound while ensuring maximum accuracy. A fantastic value in a pro large-diaphragm recording mic.

Features:
  • Large diaphragm (26 mm) for exceptional detail and low noise
  • High max SPL, wide dynamic range and optimized output level provide unmatched versatility
  • Low self-noise (12 dB SPL) - perfectly suited for today's most sophisticated digital recording equipment
  • Extended low-frequency response for rich, full sound
  • Custom shock mount provides superior isolation
  • Lo-cut switch (80 Hz, 12 dB/octave) and 10 dB pad

Excellent sound quality. Very flat frequency response, more flat than any other mic out there including Neumann... Listen to this mic, read the frequency rersponse curve and see and hear for yourself. ... read more [+]No B.S. It's a Japanese made mic,not Chinese-like alot of Blue Mics which cost much more.
I own alot of studio condensers, some are in the 4000 dollar range. This mic's sound quality can be compared to mics 8 timrd it's asking price.I would definitely use a tube preamp for acoustic guitars etc. Sounds excellent on vocals with inexpensive tube pres and absolutely marvelous with the Avalon VT-737. close [-]

Just as an artist uses different brushes to create a variety of textures on the canvas, it goes without saying that having a decent selection of microphones in order to capture the various sonic textu... read more [+]res is essential. I own some of the best mics the world has to offer including Neumann's, AKG's, Sennheiser's, Shure's and also a pair of AT4050's. I needed a few condensers to do some live recordings of acoustic performers but didn't want to subject my vintage AKG C451E's or my Neumann's to the "live" world, so I picked up a couple of these AT3035's. When I got them I did a brief test of them in my studio and was very surprised at how good these sounded! Then I embarked on my first live recording job with these babies and was even more impressed at the detail I was able to capture. I now own four of these AT3035's, and besides the live usage, I use them in my studio along side of some of the best mics in the world. They have a very nice character to them and you will not be disappointed if you get one or two for your own personal use. They are very well made and kill the more expensive cheap Chinese mics out there. Five Stars to AT for offering such a fine product at such a reasonable price!!!!! close [-]

Excellent value, robust quality

Very versatile mic, we have mic'd up amps, bass cabs, drumkits, vocals, choirs all sorts with this. The male vocals can get a bit muddy but turning on the low EQ cut quickly sharpens things up again. ... read more [+]I read reviews of engineers using this mic and needing little or no EQ at mixdown. Correct. The only unfortunate flaw is that it is extremely accurate in its sound. If you suck, the mic will pick it up. So any bad reviews of this mic would be down to bad playing... it's a superb mic. Chuck the others away.. Infact it's so good I have sold my other mics on ebay (SM57, SM58, Sony CNDSR) gone... bye, not needed. The shock mount is fantastic and holds it in hurricanes. the build is sturdy and AT have delivered on their promise of quality at an affordable price. well worth the money, cant say enough good things about it. Acoustic guitar is always a hard one and maybe i didnt spend enough time finding the sweet spot... but it still sounds great. buy it. If you have already spent a lot of money on gtr's and amps etc then you need to collect that sound with an accurate reading mic... you've found it. close [-]
