Portative Organ

This is a type of organ built in Medieval times and carried over into the Renaissance. It was small enough to carry, but because the left hand must work the bellows, which produce the air pressure to make each note audible, . organs can only be played with the right hand. There are usually two rows of parallel pipes, each having about eight pipes. This may have been the ancestor of today’s accordion and was last known from the 15th century.
