Budget-friendly bass power!

There's no reason to spend a ton when you need stage-ready bass power. The Behringer UltraBass BXD3000H bass head boasts 300 watts of oomph, but the Class D design keeps the weight down, making it great for gigging. With two channels (channel one is clean and channel two is more aggressive), there's a tone for any occasion. You can further shape the sound with the onboard 7-band EQ with a spectrum analyzer, which makes it easy to dial in the perfect sound. At Sweetwater, we know that value is important - and the Behringer UltraBass BXD3000H bass head is loaded with value!

Behringer UltraBass BXD3000H Bass Head Features:
  • 2-channel design for flexibility
  • 300 watts of Class D power

No complaints

I've been using this head with a Hartke 112 300w cab for 3 years. 4 ohms, perfectly matched. Couldn't figure out how to rack mount it, but it's made multiple 4 to 8 hour trips bouncing in the back of a pickup truck!I use channel 2 for a little grit. I play in a Scorpions cover band and a U2 cover band. Sounds great with my collection of Ibanez basses, Fender and G&L. Even had to let a friend use it when his Acoustic 100 blew up when his Ratt band opened. I go direct w/ ease and can hear myself if the monitors aren't to my liking. I don't like to make a fuss. Just plug and get after it. Indoor or outdoor gigs... no complaints.

Great Head

Sounds great! I like the size. Looks good on top of cab unlike smaller heads. Great amp for the low cost! Shipping was a nightmare but no fault of Sweetwater's. Hooked it up to my Fender Rumble 210 cab and happy so far! Love the free footswitch! At just over $ it's a great deal.

UltraDude

I've been eyeing this amp for maybe 7 years way back when price was ultra cheap. Still a decent deal but should be around 2 bills. The amp has a bunch of great features, just don't care for the ultrabass effect that doesn't sound like an octave to me so maybe its a revised version to a 5th. For 1 stringin' Smoken on the water? About actual wattage. Through a 8 ohm 15 I would say cranking to only 3, sounded as strong on 3 as a friends 60 watt PV bass amp combo on 9. So should be 180 watts into 8. Be nice to have a second speaker jack but people can't add ohms. Divide, whatever...EQ could go just a tad higher to 7k for keyboard amping. I'll cut the G wire on a XLR M to F if I need a Ground Lift since no button on DI Out. Knobs are smooth, EQ needs to be kept out of dust. Handle uses your two bass thumping fingers to build up muscle, and the candy sent in package acts as a nice Temp and Humidity monitor during shipping! No, Really! (none dis-formed)! I'd take the great reverb in a Bugera amp over that ultrabass FX anyday. My bass, even with a preamp phat2 on barely lights up EQ in FBQ mode so I know it isn't digital clipping the amp chip which maybe others had a issue with so A. Keep EQ in a Neutral zone, Use a little compressor and C crank Amp but leave a little for amp to survive! Make sure fan is running years from now as that will be 1st to fix. They do wear out you know? Keep out of sunlight and don't place over a tube amp! No rubber feet is strange. Sounds Great and versatile! Did I mention I'll plug line out of 15 watt superchamp X2 amp to a 300 watt Boost? Oh Yeah! Through a 15 and a 4X8 all PA-Pyle mini stack!

THIS THING ROCKS!

I was looking for a good backup head for practice or small gigs. I've only used it a few times in a band setting as well as practicing solo. This thing rocks! EQ is on point with graphic controls to get me a beefy yet punchy tone with my Fender Jazz bass. My background is close to 40 years experience. I do every thing from Alice in Chains to Johnny Cash. Heavy rock to classic R&B. So far so good. I'll try to post further updates in the meantime, what are you waiting for?

Price and reliability.

I was a little skeptical when I first looked at this cheap little head.
I was in a bind and needed something NOW! My trusty Hartke rack mounted head took a dump at the end of our last set on a Saturday night and shows booked on starting again on Wednesday. So, the search began. The repairs on my head would be a couple weeks, if it could be repaired and a replacement was the only other option.
I read the reviews and figured for two bills, I could buy this, use it until my Hartke was fixed, and then put this in the "I can use it at home" pile.
Boy was I surprised when I put it in my rack. Light weight and powerful. It didn't take long to realize that this was going to be my primary and everything else was going in the corner at home.
This amp will do anything you need it to do, it will be low and dirty or loud and clean. I am so grateful that I chose this amp... or, did it choose me?
If you only need something inexpensive for a back up, or you are looking to cut forty pounds from your rack you can do much worse. I would definitely buy this again and again!
