One of the things that sets Kali apart is their dedication to research and development. Kali arrived at the shape of the front port tube on their studio monitors by means of extensive fluid dynamic simulations. The shape of the front port fixes many of the typical problems with front-firing ports, allowing the speakers to be placed anywhere in a room. All of this is done without any exotic materials or processes, which helps keep the cost low.
All of Kali’s loudspeakers feature customization options that are accessible from the back of the speaker. Simple graphics are printed directly on the speaker, so you don’t need to be an acoustician to find the best setting for your space. You can dial it in with ease!
Kali’s LP Series studio monitors are 2-way powered monitors with a 1-inch tweeter. The LP Series uses a custom waveguide around the tweeter that spreads out the sweet spot and makes for an extremely lifelike stereo image.
Kali uses custom transducers on all their models. Kali’s woofer architecture uses a large-diameter, 2-layer voice coil, which results in substantially lower distortion compared to similarly priced studio monitors.
The IN Series are 3-way studio monitors with a coaxial midrange and tweeter. The woofer is separate, so the IN Series monitors enjoy all of the benefits of a coaxial speaker — particularly the precise imaging — without any of the intermodulation distortion that is common in coaxial designs. Because it is a 3-way monitor, none of the three transducers are working near their limits, so the IN Series monitors can provide accurate, high-output playback effortlessly.
The WS-12 is a 12-inch, 1,000-watt subwoofer for studio and live use. In the studio, it will deliver down to 23Hz and can support a system as large as 5.1 where IN-8s are used as the full-range speakers. For live settings, the WS-12 is a great choice for small portable PA systems.
Kali is primarily focused on loudspeakers, but they venture out from time to time into related accessories, as well. The MV-BT is a Bluetooth adapter that lets you connect your phone (or other device) to speakers, a mixing console, an interface, or any other professional audio setup via balanced connectors. The MV-BT is capable of CD-quality streaming over Bluetooth, so it’s a great way to share tracks and ideas without having to find an aux cord.
