  • Amazing value

Versatile
The PreSonus TubePRE is equipped with both a balanced XLR input and 1/4" hi-Z input to accommodate mic- and instrument-level signals. In fact, many engineers have sung the praises of the TubePRE as a DI with bass guitar, and the Tube Drive control lets you dial in the perfect amount of grit and warmth. As a mic pre, source sounds come through loud and clear thanks to the low -98dB noise floor.

Amazing Value
The TubePRE represents a stunning value in the world of mic/instrument preamps. Not only is it tube-driven, a great direct box, and quiet, but it's also equipped with necessary studio tools such as a phase inversion button, 10dB pad, phantom power, and an 80Hz low-cut filter. As an added bonus, there's a front-panel VU meter (who doesn't love VU meters!).

PreSonus TubePRE Preamplifier Features:
  • Award-winning tube preamp
  • Tube drive/gain
  • Backlit VU meter
  • Great as a direct box
  • Input: XLR, 1/4" High-Impedance
  • Output: XLR, 1/4" unbalanced
  • Noise floor: -98dB
  • Signal-to-noise: >95dB

The PreSonus TubePRE is a genuine recording value!

This PreAmp does a really nice job of smoothing things out, and has (along with a Focusrite Saffire Pro) greatly improved the front end of my project studio. I'm sure lots of you home studio types have experienced difficulties in reducing ambient noise - AC, dishwasher, computer hum, traffic, sirens, etc.. The TUBEPre has really helped with this - so much so, that when I stop speaking I hear basically nothing. I really recommend switching out the tube - It's very easy, and the difference is worth it. close [-]

I don't belt it out in most songs, and this little preamp helps deliver the warm sound I want and it really sounds so much better than just running my vocals through a mixer. I did upgrade to the Mullard tube and replaced the stock tube, but the stock tube sounds good too...the Mullard just has a certain quality I personally like. Oh, bonus: it has an instrument input, so you can warm up your guitar or bass while you at it ;-) Buy this preamp! close [-]
