This is a great travel case. It's designed for a dreadnought. Nobody seems to make a case like this for a Taylor "Grand Concert" size guitar, but I use this case for my Taylor (512-CE). As you can see from the photo, there's some extra room. I put a rolled up kitchen towel under the neck where it meets the body to keep it from sliding up, and another at the waist (to the right side in this photo), and it's perfectly stable. The wooden Taylor case that came with this guitar is a perfect fit, of course, but it's heavy, and isn't as well suited for air travel as this case. Gator makes a similar case BUT it's slightly shorter, and it's important to have a little extra room at the headstock, so I chose this SKB case.

At this point I own over a dozen of these dreadnaught and jumbo cases for all of my gigging guitars, so many that I have to label the lid of each so I don't grab the wrong guitar when loading out! They are strong and yet lightweight. The TSA locks are the best. They lock tight and have no teeth to bite a guitar if the lid falls. They fit the guitars they are meant to fit perfectly, have a beautiful protective lining and a generous storage area. I recently bought an Epiphone custom shop J180 LS, and even though it came with a really nice case, I bought another SKB dreadnaught size case and it fit perfectly! I also bought a vintage 1970 Gibson slot head EB3 bass with rear facing tuners that stick out the back of the headstock like a classical guitar. I had no luck finding a bass case for it. One day I grabbed one of my SKB dreadnaught cases and the bass fit perfectly! Plenty of room in the headstock area for the rear facing tuners and the only modification I had to make was a foam pad to raise the thinner bass body in the body compartment! I also own two cases designed for the Taylor GS Mini, even though I don't own one! I use one for my Eastman octave mandolin and the other for my midi guitar and the associated cables and connectors for midi set up.

If you want to protect your assets (your instrument), new or vintage, and never have to worry about it, this is the case. Much appreciation for Greg for his thoroughness, patience with all of my questions, and superb customer service (as always).

Solid case, as expected from experience with SKB cases in the past. Fits my Loar 600 pretty well.

This has to be the best guitar case I've ever owned. It is lightweight and totally protective of your favorite guitar. I highly recommend buyi mg this one. I never have to worry about my guitar getting dinged or crushed when traveling. It's the Samsonite of all guitar cases!!!
