A Top-of-the-line Boundary Mic

The Crown PCC160 is the industry-standard stage floor microphone — for good reason. This low-profile boundary layer mic boasts a wide, smooth frequency response from 50Hz to 18kHz, and it can tackle up to 120dB SPL without breaking a sweat. Here at Sweetwater, we really dig the PCC160's 3-position bass-tilt switch, which permits you to fine-tune the mic's low-end response for any source or application. PCC (Phase Coherent Cardioid) technology employs ultra-small diaphragms to safeguard against phase cancellations, yielding you a wide, smooth frequency response with zero phase interference. Beyond that, the PCC160's half-supercardioid polar pattern offers outstanding gain before feedback and minimizes unwanted pit noise in stage applications. Whether you use it on a stage floor, on a conference table, or as an ambient mic, the PCC160 is a top-of-the-line supercardioid boundary microphone.

Crown PCC-160 mic

Used it for an elementary school production of the Wizard of Oz. I put this new one along with my other two right on the front of the stage. I put the bright yellow spike tape a little closer where I want them to stand and sing than I do for high school. They sounded great and all the parents could hear their kids songs and lines. Had a great show, great kids singing their hearts out and another great mic. Gotta Love Theater!

PCC-160 on grand piano

I own a pair, and frequently do live sound situations where it is preferable to have a piano lid closed....gaff tape these babies to the inside of the lid....amazing!

Sounds like backing tracks

Found several of these in storage at an amphitheater. They had been used previously, but not in several years. We put them near groups of performers hidden in scenery. During the performance we slowly started mixing them in. The sound was so realistic and present we were accused of using pre-recorded tracks. These were old banged up units and they still preformed perfectly.
