Merge Your Expression Pedal with MIDI Messages

There's a lot you can do with the MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller. Essentially, the Pedal Controller lets you merge incoming MIDI messages with the messages you tell the Pedal Controller to generate, and also convert an expression pedal to a MIDI controller. For example, you can hook it up between your keyboard and a sound module, connect your expression pedal, and you can play the sound module and control parameters from the expression pedal over a single MIDI cable. It also lets you send pitch bend as an upward bend or downward bend only, making it easier to perform accurate pitch bends with your expression pedal when you use the MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller.

MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller Features:
  • Lets you convert an expression pedal to a continuous MIDI controller
  • Also merges incoming MIDI messages with the messages it's generating
  • Ideal for combining two control sources (MIDI and exp. pedal) into a single MIDI cable
  • Built tough for reliable live use
  • Allows you to send a System Exclusive message with a single variable byte, to control sounds in non-traditional ways
Expand your MIDI capabilities, with the MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller!

Reviews

MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller
Sweetwater is EXCELLENT!!! I am using it to sustain my Roland U-220, thru midi to my Novation Launchkey 25, which has no midi ports! Tech support programmed the pedal controller, so thru usb it sustains my U-220 and all it's sounds. Tech support even sent me a diagram of how to hook it up:)

OUTSTANDING!

Pedal comtroler
I am using it with a Roland digital accordion. I had to buy thr midi power supply to make it work. Roland chose to use 3 volts for their midi system rather than the standard 5 volts. It works as advertised once I added the midi power supply just more cables and a 9 volt transformer to add to the mix.
Hard to set up, but then works perfectly
The software to configure the device is super hokey and hard to figure out, but once you get it set it up, it works flawlessly. The user manual is only marginally helpful with this (but read it anyway). I recommend that Sweetwater writes an article about how to use all of the MIDI Solutions tools.
Doesn't Work
While I have a couple other Midi Solutions boxes that work well; the Pedal Controller doesn't work. I have tried it with three different Midi sound modules, using two different expression pedals. I have tested all of these devices with other Midi selectors and mergers, and all are working. Maybe I got a bad one.
