There is a groove in the plastic of your headphones that the earpads fit into. Start to pull one of your old earpads off & you'll see the groove. This review is not so much on the product (the replacement pads look fine, feel fine, and their installation is quick and easy) as it is on the need for them at all. As everyone else has said in their... read more [+] reviews for Sony MDR7506, the outer material on these phones flakes off--and sticks all over the faces, necks, and ears of those who use the phones. This is especially embarrassing when recording, but my wife also took the phones to work one day and came home looking like a Dalmation (these "flecks" can't simply be brushed off, either). As many others have stated, I love the sound of these old Sony phones, and it seems odd to me that I have to buy replacement earpads, after moderate use, at all. When I put the new ones on, I couldn't help but wonder how long it will be before these start flaking apart and I'll have to buy yet another set. Time will shortly tell if these pads are any improvement on the originals. close [-]

They are not in anyway misrepresenting the item, nor are they retailing an inferior product.June 9, 2011 Music Background: Sony claims that th... read more [+]ese are direct replacement Earpads for their MDR-7506 Headphones, but they are a smaller diameter, and thinner foam than the original pad supplied with the headphones. They are difficult to get on over the ear piece, and after several weeks the stretching of the material destroy any elasticity that it originally had. They now will not stay on the headphones without some kind of adhesive assistance. I truly cannot believe that Sony is able to supply the original product with one model of pad, and then not have the exact same one available as a replacement. These are also a replacement pad for two other models of Sony headphones. I have no claim that they won't work for those, only the MDR-7506. close [-] Also popular
