June 9, 2009 Music Background: recording engineer, DJ/producer I soon purchased an MC Control just for the faders & a few more control knobs, but quickly found out that this piece of equipment is MUCH MORE than I could ever hope for. It not only works FLAWLESSLY with Logic 8, but it can be used to control many other programs that I use. I absolutely love that I can control my other programs & hardly touch the mouse. The potential of this thing seems endless to me. If i had one complaint, it would be that I wish I could buy it for a cheaper price..... :-) Oh well, you get what you pay for, I guess. They released it two early, the software is not very stable with the older PCC chips however it works much better with the Intel chips. The other thing is that the touch screen is not the greatest. If you have ever used an iPhone then you know how well touch screens work however this seems more like a 3 year old GPS system that doesn't really work. The touch screen is very unstable. I would definitely recommend one but with the one stipulation of go try one first. Play with it and make sure its worth the 1500 before you buy one. However as soon as version 2 comes out snatch that up so fast. close [-]

Euphonix makes great gear right at the leading edge of technology and these controllers are really in a league of their own. I don't know about you, but I prefer to get on with making music, I have no time to spend custom-configuring controllers, especially with something as complex as Logic where there are hundreds of options.September 10, 2008 Music Background: Recording Artist/Producer/Engineer So why did I only give this 4 stars?? Unfortunately, the MC Control has some quality issues. The shuttle/jog wheel tends to get stuck (I've heard this reported elsewhere too), and the buttons, although cool, need to be hit pretty hard. Some of the LED's flicker mysteriously, and the touch screen also suffers from a little flicker. You'd expect the silver parts of the surface to be brushed aluminum or other similar metal, but unfortunately, it's just painted plastic. I wonder how long it will be before that silver paint rubs off under constant use from sweaty palms?? It's not exactly a budget piece of gear, either, but, oh well, I've come to expect this on products labelled 'made in China' !! Quality issues aside, this is still the best DAW controller, along with the MC Mix, out there right now. BTW, the included plastic support legs, which are supposed to raise the controller to a more useful angle, make the whole thing unstable. I've found using a standard laptop stand (like the Roadtools PodiumPad for MacBooks) works great! close [-]
