Little Size, Big Martin Sound

If you travel often and want to bring a 6-string companion along, few instruments fit the bill better than Little Martin series guitars! The LX1’s modified O-style body is about as comfortable as acoustic guitars get, sporting a solid spruce top and mahogany-pattern HPL back and sides to deliver luscious Martin tone in a luggage-bin sized package. FSC Certified Richlite is used for both the fingerboard and bridge — this composite material is all but impervious to changes in temperature and humidity, while still offering a sleek, smooth playing surface. On the road, in the practice room, or on the couch — the LX1 Little Martin is a parlor-sized workhorse of an acoustic guitar!

Sustainable building materials

One of the most appealing features of the Little Martin LX1 is how Martin designed it with materials that are simultaneously environmentally sustainable, durable, and more than capable of delivering traditional Martin acoustic tone! The bridge and fingerboard are made with FSC Richlite, a long-lasting composite material that offers old-school Martin tone but with space-age reliability. Richlite is totally unaffected by temperature and humidity changes, making it a perfect choice for musicians who travel often or live in challenging climates. In addition, the Mahogany HPL back and sides deliver a warm sound, and they're far less likely to dry out and crack compared to solid wood designs.

Martin LX1 Little Martin Acoustic Guitar Features:

  • Modified O-style body is ideal for travel, couching playing, and musicians of a smaller stature
  • Solid spruce top offers a lively and resonant response
  • Mahogany pattern HPL back and sides are incredibly sturdy and produce a full and clear midrange-biased tone
  • 23-inch scale length offers a loose, comfortable playing feel that’s great for players of all sizes
  • Highly durable rust birch laminate neck with a Modified Low Oval neck shape with taper for high playing performance
  • Smooth and low-maintenance hand-rubbed satin finish

Reviews

Small but Powerful
I got this guitar for my son who is already grown out of it size wise. I have a Taylor that he has taken over and I've got to say, I really love the way this lil guy sounds. Next acoustic purchase will be a full sized Martin 100%!
Marvelous!
This is a marvelous little guitar. I bought it as my "couch guitar" - nice enough, but not too expensive - so I don't worry about killing it. Honestly, I probably play it more than my other "more serious" instruments, because it is convenient and really fun to play. It is well-built, very comfortable in the hand, and sounds really good (of course, it is a Martin). It is relatively inexpensive but does not sound "cheap". I highly recommend getting one because it reminds us of why we took up guitar in the first place - to just play and enjoy making music. This guitar does that quite nicely. Also, it is really durable and if it comes to it, I will use it to defend myself during the Zombie apocalypse.
Music background: Guitar fanatic for decades.
Phenomenal
Great sound and feel. Perfect size for travel and keep it close for just noodling around. Better than I expected and I expected a lot.
Little Martin
Great guitar. I bought it for my grandson. This way he will leave my D28 alone. Thank you Dave

Durable compact guitar
This is a great little durable guitar for heavy/ efficient/ streamlined travel. The HPL back and sides with the Stratabond neck make the guitar very durable. And the spruce top helps to give it a good tone considering it's size. I travel the globe for work and never hesitate to stuff it in the overhead bins on the airlines when the coat closet is full. I take as much care of it as possible, however traveling with it is always stress free because of it's durability and price. I've been traveling with it for about 18 months now and it still looks brand new as the HPL back and sides resists scratching, dents, and dings. And it doesn't take up much space when I have to cram in the backseat of a taxi with my coworkers and all of our luggage. No, it doesn't sound like its full size counterparts. But it still has an acceptable tone. It's super easy to take anywhere. And it's fun to play!
