From Our Research Team:The Perfect PA for the Singer/Songwriter!The amazing Bose L1 Compact system joins extreme portability with phenomenal sound. At the heart of the speaker system is Bose's Spatial Dispersion loudspeaker technology. It delivers sound evenly both across the stage and throughout the audience - so the Bose L1 Compact is an all-in-one monitoring system and a small- to mid-sized venue PA - despite weighing in at just 29 lbs. You won't even need an external mixer, as there's an integrated 2-channel microphone/instrument mixer on the rear of the Bose L1 Compact.Bose L1 Compact PA Speaker System at a Glance:
Delivers sound to the audience and sound to the stage With one trip from the car to the stage, you'll have your full PA system and monitoring system in one hand - all thanks to Bose's Spatial Dispersion technology. The Bose L1 Compact system has six small drivers inside a vertical enclosure - all positioned at precise angles. The result is nearly 180 degrees of even horizontal sound coverage - so the sound remains the same, even at the extreme sides of the audience or the stage. Instead of dialing in a stage monitor while wondering what the mix sounds like from the crowd - with the Bose L1 Compact, you'll always hear exactly what the audience hears. Two ToneMatch channels with perfect presets for a singer/songwriter If you sing and play guitar, the Bose L1 Compact PA system is perfect for you - although its applications extend far beyond just that. What makes the L1 Compact so convenient, is that it has two of Bose's elite ToneMatch channels. Bose has preconfigured presets for a vocal microphone and an acoustic guitar - so it'll sound great, with no tweaking necessary. Built-in mixer, on the rear of the speaker's stand On the back of the Bose L1 Compact power stand, you'll find a convenient 2-channel mixer. The first channel has an XLR input for your vocal microphone. The second channel has a 1/4" input for your guitar, plus stereo RCA inputs so you can connect up an iPod or a laptop to play backing tracks or music between sets. Small, lightweight, and easy to setup Apart from its excellent sound, maybe the best part about the Bose L1 Compact system is that it's easy to carry and setup. You won't need to call in help, just to get the system into the gig - and you won't have to labor through tons of cable connections and audio-testing steps. Weighing just 29 lbs., the Bose L1 Compact is light enough for one musician to carry, and it sets up in under a minute. You can also choose between two setup positions, depending on the space you're performing in - there's a collapsed position for smaller spaces and an extended position to fill larger rooms. I've had my L1 compact two years now and still, each and every time I either perform through it or play my Ipad music through it the fidelity, sound projection, room coverage and ease of use amazes me... read more [+] and everyone who sees/hears it. I would also advice those who are fed up with complicated home sound systems to get one, stick it in a corner of a room, hook up your sound output source and be done with it. March 27, 2013 Music Background: hobbyist, musician The absolutely best PA I've used
by Goran Tangring from
My first encounter with the Bose array systems was a couple of years ago when a collegue at my daytime job bought a LII system for playing his digital drumset in his living-room (?!!). A few days late... read more [+]r I borrowed his gear to play a gig in a quite large venue with very high ceiling, actually the lobby of a large conference-center. What do I play? I perform instrumental guitar-pop of the 60's, The Shadows, The Spotnicks, The Ventures and more. I make my own backings which I store on a laptop. March 25, 2013 Music Background: Pro Musician, Semi-pro musician, music teacher Normally I use a conventional PA-setup (amp 2*250W, mixer and two heavy speaker cabinets on tripods + my VOX amp). On this occasion I left the guitar amp at home so I could easily transport the whole setup; Bose system, guitar, and gigbag with mixer and fxpedal, from the car to the stage in one turn. Setting up took just a couple of minutes as opposed to 45 minutes with my normal system. Sound checking was a breeze as the sound I got while on stage turned out to be exactly what I heard when I placed myself in different parts of the venue using wireless from the guitar. No need to do that any more, only the overall volume may have to be altered depending on the size of the audience (in this case it turned out to be between 3 and 4 hundred) As it turned out the power of the L1 was much more than adequate, and as I normally gig for 50-150 people in smaller venues, I decided to opt for the L1 compact which proved a good decision. Even lighter to carry and power to spare for my needs. My current setup is as follows: Guitar into echo-unit into ipad garage band (where I have set up appropriate amp simulation for each number) and into L1. I initially was worried about not having stereo as my backings are created in stereo, but have found that that does not matter at all, nevertheless I do think about expand with another L1 for just that purpose. close [-] Sweetwater Advice
