A Stereo Cab for Your Amp Modeling Setup

The Mission Engineering Gemini 2 powered guitar cabinet makes gigging out with stereo amp modelers and effects a piece of cake. This birch cabinet features a pair of internal 110-watt Class D power amplifiers, each of which drive a 12-inch woofer and a coaxial 1-inch tweeter, providing you with extremely transparent full-range sound. A flexible EmPower EQ onboard gives you the option of choosing a more traditional sound with smoother highs. And it gets even cooler. In additional to its analog inputs, the Gemini 2 offers you high-speed USB inputs, so you can play backing tracks or tap into software modeling and effects.

Full range or guitar-amp range - it's your choice!

Several of the guitarists at Sweetwater were among the first to ditch their traditional guitar amplifiers and make the switch to some sort of amp modeler and a PA system. Full range PAs are particularly great when you want to play along to backing tracks or use a wilder set of effects. But we found that the added highs can run a bit harsh when you're going after more organic guitar tones. That's why we love the Gemini 2's EmPower EQ control, which allows you to blend between a flat EQ curve or a more typical guitar cab's present mids and rolled off highs. Between its 12-inch driver and its 1-inch coaxial tweeter, the Mission Engineering Gemini 2 lets you dial in the exact tonal response you need.

Ultra flexible analog and digital I/O provide tons of options

The Gemini 2 packs some mighty impressive I/O options. For starters, there's a pair of XLR combo jacks onboard for your stereo amp modeler or effects rig. Rotary effects, ping-pong delays, split clean/dirty amp rigs - you name it. If it's a 2-channel effect, then the Gemini 2 will make it come to life onstage. There's also a high-speed USB input for playback from your computer or other USB audio gear, and you can mix the digital and analog inputs together, making it super easy to play over backing tracks.

Roadworthy birch cabinet you won't regret taking onstage

As convenient as plastic PA speakers may be to schlep around, nothing packs the punch of a real wood cabinet, which is why we're sure you're going to love the solid sound of the Gemini 2's 3/4-inch void-free baltic birch cabinet. Covered in high-quality black Tolex and a basket-weave speaker cover, this Mission Engineering cabinet doesn't just sound right onstage, it looks like it belongs there, too. And if you're rocking an rackmount processor, you can always stick it in a matching Gemini H 19 rack head (sold separately) and you'll have a matched set.

Mission Engineering Gemini 2 Powered 2 x 12-inch Speaker Cabinet Features:

  • The perfect powered cabinet for your stereo guitar amp modeling rig
  • 2 x 12-inch guitar cabinet with dual 110-watt Class D power amplifiers onboard
  • 1 inch coaxial high-frequency compression drivers provide full-range sound from 57Hz-20kHz
  • EmPower EQ control lets you blending between a flat or traditional guitar cab frequency response
  • XLR combo jacks provide analog input for your stereo or 2-channel amp modeler
  • High-speed USB connection provides input for up to 24-bit/192kHz digital signal
  • Use both analog and USB inputs simultaneously to play over backing tracks
  • Cabinet is hand made from 3/4-inch void-free baltic birch

Exactly what I’ve been looking for

For ease and simplicity I've been running a Fractal FM3 into various powered frfr cabs(I'd love to name them, but won't for the sake of decorum) for all the smaller venues we play, and I've been soundly disappointed in all of them. They've ranged from shrill and brittle, to fat and flubby, to weak and anemic, to sounding like somebody threw a goose down comforter over the speaker(s).
I'm perfectly aware that tone is entirely subjective, however in my personal opinion: the Mission Engineering Gemini2 provides crisp, clear, dynamic tone that reacts amazingly well to the volume control on my instrument as well as reacting beautifully well to the way I manipulate the instrument in my hands. It also, in my opinion, allows the Fractal FM3 to finally shine through honestly without the horrendous tone coloring the other frfr cabs imparted. And my sound guy is super happy too. He's constantly moving around the venue to dial in the levels on the fly throughout the performance and according to him, the Gemini2 stereo provides the same excellent sound regardless of where in the venue any particular patron might be seated. Happy sound guy=happy musician.
On a final note I'd like to thank Paul at Mission engineering. We record all our rehearsals and I was struggling a bit to get the Gem2/fractal combo 1) Provide a line out to my IEM loving bandmates 2) provide signal to the recording equipment without mic'ing up 3) Do all that while providing stereo sound in the room. Paul spent a solid 45min on the phone with me to get me sorted.
Excellent cab, excellent service. Can't ask for more than that.

I’d buy another one in a heart beat!

Mission Gemini 2 ST review:

My experience with the Gemini 2 ST has been unbelievable. I truly have to say... WOW! Wholly cow its amazing. My buddy and I ran my old 412 vs my new Gemini. The Gemini hands down smashed the 412 in tone, volume, clarity and several other sharper qualities. I"ve been using it in many different situations. I have never for a single second thought "this cab is missing (xyz)". Out of the box I was very impressed but after using it in all kinds of different conditions I can say I"m in love (Haha). This 212 sounds surprisingly bigger than my 412 let alone all the beautiful tone I get from the Gemini vs my Marshall. Not to knock the Marshall BUT I do have to say I much prefer the Gemini. There"s just something about it that"s very punchy and extremely accurate. My buddy and I did a side-by-side comparison between the real amp and found there to be practically nothing that sounds different between my FRFR and my buddies actual amps. To me, In my opinion, the Gemini is by far the highest quality AND BEST SOUNDING FRFR I"ve had the chance to use.

I"ve tried Line 6 and a multitude of others with no success. The speaker separation really killed most other FRFR cabs I"ve tried. BUT the Gemini being coaxial really makes it respond very accurately and without compromise tonally. I"ve gigged next to very loud drummers (and I mean EXTREMELY loud drummers) and have yet to have a volume/tone cutting issue. I regularly gig with the cab at ‪1/3rd‬ to 3/5ths and the preamp on max. Thats plenty of power. I have my preamp setup so it won"t clip even at extreme volumes. I"m thrilled, truly, and I"m extremely blown away with my experience and I"m ever so more grateful to the people at Mission Engineering for allowing me to achieve my tonal dream. They allowed me to customise my cab through a long process but the people at Mission are the best by far. I have yet to find a tone or an amp in my AXE FXII XL that isn"t accurate to the original amp. As I stated earlier, the Gemini does it all. Literally does it all. I cant wait for future gigs and I never have to fight my rig to get what I want. The Gemini really is the ULTIMATE FRFR cab on the market. The coaxial design is what I think makes it stand out. Its the ONLY FRFR cab I"ve found that I can mic up like any regular cab or be able to send my signal strait to the front of house from my D.I.

I have never had an easier setup, really. I technically have the most gear in the bands but thanks to my rig it takes me 5 mins to setup and be ready to go for any length of show. I"ve never been more satisfied or in love with a guitar rig/product. Even my buddies who have tried it have literally said "geez man this things nuts, I gotta get one!". That made me feel even better about my new cab.

Mission Gemini 2 is Best FRFR Hands Down!

I was researching FRFR speakers for my Eleven Rack Modeler for quite some time. Most reviewers thought this one was the best hands down. And they were right! I like that the speakers are all centered within each other for a more uniform sound and to make mic'ing the amp easier for live gigs. I also thought the customer service from Paul at Mission Engineering was excellent. When I found the cable that Mission sells to be too short he made special arrangements so I could get the cable I needed.

Fantastic Amp!

Had it for over a week and played my first gig this weekend and it sounded awesome. I use it with my Helix and it sounded amazing, I'm very happy with this purchase. It's pricey and I thought I would be sending this back and the product would not be worth the money...I'm glad to say I was wrong...your not getting it back! :)

I’m a Believer!!

You won’t know how a modeller or profiler truly sounds unless you plug it into one of these. The difference is night and day.
You have to have one of these Full Range Flat Response cabinets to complete your rig if you use any kind of modeling technology.
You won’t understand until you try it.
