Versatile Amp Head with Tube-saving Technology

The Bugera G20 Infinium Class A electric guitar tube amplifier head is a wonderful solution for the guitarist who needs a reliable amp with a wide palette of sound at a screaming price. Bugera's Infinium technology not only greatly extends the life of your tubes, but it also allows for mixing and matching. The Morph knob dials in American and British EQ curves, and the G20 is loaded with additions like an effects loop, speaker-emulated out, and more. The Bugera G20 Infinium is a great companion for the guitarist who needs a lot of tones under the hood.

Bugera G20 Infinium Electric Guitar Tube Amplifier Head at a Glance:
  • Infinium technology
  • Find your blend of American and British tones
  • Many onboard options to fine-tune your sound
Infinium technology

Bugera's Infinium technology is a revolutionary method of extending the life of your amplifier's tubes up to 20 times. This process also self-biases each tube individually to keep them running optimally and does away with the need for expensive tube biasing repairs. The G20 Infinium employs this technology so you can use any type of power tubes that you choose. Whether your flavor is 6L6 or EL34, all you have to do is swap in the tubes and power up the G20.

Find your blend of American and British tones

Bugera added their popular Morph control to the tonestack of the G20 Infinium. This knob lets you choose between American and British-sounding EQ curves. Turn the knob to the left and you'll notice larger lows and a glassy top end. Crank it to the right and chime and mid presence come to the forefront. A lot of Sweetwater guitarists are adding this amp to their rigs for this control alone. And the Morph control is fully variable to allow you to dial in the perfect blend for whatever style of gig you're playing.

Many onboard options to fine-tune your sound

Though the G20 Infinium is incredibly easy to use, it comes with a surprising amount of flexibility for nailing the exact sound the situation calls for. The effects loop has a level button for use with pedals or line-level effects. A two-setting, speaker-emulated output works perfectly for headphones, recording, or playing live. And the G20 Infinium boasts a high quality reverb for adding some ambience to your passages. A footswitch out and indicators for tube life round out this very powerful amplifier.

Bugera G20 Infinium Electric Guitar Tube Amplifier Head Features:
  • 20-watt tube amplifier head
  • Infinium technology extends the life of your tubes of choice
  • Morph control dials in American and British EQ tones
  • Effects loop with level switch
  • Speaker-emulated line-out is great for recording
  • Onboard reverb
  • 2-button footswitch included
The G20 Infinium offers a lot of great tones for not a lot of money.

Updated Review | 2 Years Later | Still Great

I originally posted my review back in 2018 when I first got it and my rating stays the same, 5 out of 5 star product! ...Im writing a 2nd review as a 2 year update to let everyone know that my Bugera G20 is still running just as good as the day I got it! Bugera really makes a quality product. I have a newfound appreciation for this head because I recently bought an EVH 5150 III because I wanted a genuine high gain amp and more power (50 watts) at least I thought I wanted more power, and although the 5150 III delivered in the high gain department the actual head itself was built SUPER CHEAP and 50 watts was just way too loud. I have no idea why people all over the internet swear by that head, I was expecting to be blown away but I wasn't, I was more excited when I got my Bugera. Yes the EVH sounded good, it had brutal amounts of gain but the super cheap control knobs made it very hard to use so back it went. Now Im back using the head I know and love and now I realize that 20 watts is plenty for me. And Im utterly shocked that a head... has superior build quality to the EVH 5150 III...what??? I'll never try another EVH product again.

In my first review I said that this head has enough gain for Metal, I was a little excited, it does not. But dont let that scare you away! Ive been running a Metal Muff Nano distortion pedal through the FX Loop since I got this head and it sounds just as good as the EVH 5150 III that I had for a little while. This head on its own is great for any genre of rock but if you want to do Metal you need a distortion pedal in the FX Loop. ...I would just go for the Marshall DSL 20... that thing has enough gain for Metal. Dont know if its going to have the same build quality as the Bugera G20 tho

Great tone, budget amplifier

A great way to get into tube amps, it's budget-friendly, has some really nice features, and great tone. It lacks a little for high gain tone, but with an overdrive, or distortion pedal to get really gainy tones. Still, the overdrive channel has enough gain for most people, and the clean channel is superb, especially when paired with the built-in reverb.

Nice Practice Amp

I purchased the G20 for a practice amp as it includes an audio in and is a tube amp for that tone. That and the headphones jack, made it a good backup to my Fender Champ12 that is going on over 35 years old, but still solid. The G20 is actually a hybrid amplifier as it augments the tube design with solid state amplification, much like many other manufacturers. The G20 sounds really nice through my 2x12 Fender Special cabinet too. Not as loud as my V55HD, but still a nice full tube sound. What surprised me the most, is the headphone jack is stereo and really provides quality sound. Makes practicing with music very real.

AA++

Don't underestimate Bugera! Fantastic amp.

Great tube sound and feel for this price?!?! YES!!

I was so terribly tired of the sterile sound from solid state amps, and I didn't want super powered tube amps, so I settled on this absolute gem. The cleans on the Bugera amps in general can rival the big "F". The OD channel is plentiful and smooth. I push the tubes with my DOD 250 OD, and the amp sings. Sustain for weeks. I have a set of JJ's to upgrade, but I'm not entirely sure I want to. I'm really liking the sound I'm getting now. The Morph EQ is an interesting function because you can get an American sound or a British sound with just a turn of said knob. I'm looking forward to pushing a 4x12 cab with this head soon. Sweetwater was great as always.
