Great Guitar for the $$$

by Eric from Austin, Tx
August 1, 2005
Music Background:
I purchased this guitar cause of the beauty and the price being under 1k. I play a lot of fingerpicking and also with the pick. The Ovangkol wood on the sides and back make a great deep tone reminis... read more [+]cent of Rosewood but a little brighter with more snap. The solid spruce top keep great sustain on notes. I love the guitar, the electronics are a little sparce but if you reduce the mids and lows a little from center and raise the treble it sounds fine. Of course add some chorus and reverb an you're set. Can't beat it for the price! close [-]

EG 334 Cutaway

by Timothy Stephan from Pardeeville, WI USA
March 1, 2004
Music Background:
This is a moderatly priced guitar with nice looks to boot. The sound un-amplified is rated fair to good. Amplified rating is in much need of improvments. My guitar sounds rather muddy and lacks color.... read more [+] The electronics for this instrument seems crude at best. Takamine would benifit by spending more time perfecting the electronics. The tuning machines are another thing needing improvments; just because they're enclosed doesn't meen they are superior. I need new bushings on one of the tuners and couldn't for the life of me find a replacement. I guess after a year or so they've done their time and simply trash out. Go ahead and spend your money on this guitar and find out for yourself. I did. close [-]

Our Customers Say...

My Sales Engineer is the best. If I need it tomorrow, I have it tomorrow. He makes sure everything is in order and that I'm set up right. I've spent a lot of money at other places, too, but I don't remember them calling me to make sure everything's okay.
