Marshall introduced the JCM2000 Dual Super Lead (DSL) series in 1997. Right from the get-go, these all-tube amplifiers enjoyed enthusiastic approval by guitarists and the press alike. A 5-watt tone beastMarshall's DSL5CCW is an all-tube, twin-channel combo amp capable of many classic Marshall sounds. Three ECC83s in the preamp section give you tone-shaping. And its ECC99 power tube delivers power that's ideal for everything from the studio to private practice. Marshall has gone on to fit this amplifier with critical upgrades for more sonic control. But this DSL5CCW is still sporting the same features as the originals such as a deep switch for defining low-end girth, a rear-panel power switch that reduces the amp's power to a single watt, and a bypassable rear-panel series FX loop.
Two channels and all the trimmingsThe Marshall DSL5CCW sports two footswitchable channels, Classic Gain, and Ultra Gain. The amp can go from glassy Plexi-esque cleans to modern high gain and everything in between. Shaping the tone of this Marshall combo is a flexible, shared 4-way EQ (Treble, Middle, Bass) juiced with the thoughtful inclusion of a Tone Shift button - ideal for scooped modern metal.
