I bought this (along with the Samson C-Valve preamp) to improve the input signal on mics and guitars for my home recording studio. It really works great and the presets are extremely helpful. It wor... read more [+]ks as advertised and does a great job. The only thing to be aware of is that the sensitivity knob on the unit is not the same thing as a threshold knob on a normal compressor. That took some getting used to in "manual" mode. While it is easy to just hook the unit up and start using it, I recommend taking the time to read the manual. There are several subtle issues (not problems) associated with using this box that you only pick up from the manual. close [-]
