From Our Research Team:ADAM Packs Big Sound into a Compact Active Monitor! The ADAM A5 active monitor provides full sound from a small footprint, making it great for studio use, desktop production, even as part of a 5.1 surround system. Based on the same quality components and construction of ADAM's popular A7, the A5 model uses a 5" woofer and ART ribbon tweeter, with two 25-watt amplifiers supplying clean power. In addition to XLR and RCA inputs, this monitor includes innovative Stereolink connections for flexible control. Front panel controls put command of the ADAM A5 right at your fingertips.ADAM A5 Active Monitor with Folded Ribbon Tweeter at a Glance:
Building on the A7's legacy Technically, the A5 is a smaller version of the A7, and can be used either in stereo or to fill out a 5.1 surround system. Powered by 2 x 25W on-board amplifiers, the A5 combines ADAM's renowned ART (Accelerated Ribbon Technology) folded ribbon tweeter with a 5" woofer constructed of a carbon fiber and Rohacell sandwich. Little speaker, big sound The front of the A5 sports dual ports for surprising low frequency response down to 55Hz (can be extended to 30Hz with the addition of the new compact Sub7 subwoofer), metal grills for added durability, as well as power and gain controls. The rear panel includes balanced XLR jacks, unbalanced RCA jacks, and Stereolink connections. Stereolink connectivity An exclusive technology of the A5, Stereolink gives you two additional in- and outputs for the second stereo channel which enable the user to adjust the volume of both loudspeakers with one control only. Unlike the classic 'master-slave' technology, the Stereolink allows both speakers to be the 'master'. ADAM A5 Active Monitor with Folded Ribbon Tweeter Features:
The ADAM A5 leaves a small footprint but packs a big punch!

Until you listen to a pair of Adam monitors in person, you don't know what you're missing. The ribbon tweeter and the carbon fiber cone are simply outstanding, and they offer more detail and definitio... read more [+]n than anything else in their price point. While the A5s aren't quite as loud as the bigger A7s, they offer more than enough headroom and are also smaller to give you more room in your studio. If you have enough cash on you to get a pair of these, then don't hesitate and don't bother looking elsewhere. Your ears will thank you. close [-]

ive heard of adam and how great they are i did want to buy a pair of a7's but financially i didnt have the cash so i settled for the a5's. and it has been a wonderful settlement at that. i have them i... read more [+]n my room here at home wich does not bost a lot of space or acoustic treatment and i love the sound that comes from them. i would describe it as very accurate. i am used to having speaker systems in the 2 to 3 hundred dollar range and these adams blow all of them out of the water. i would definately reccomend them for a first time monitor and one of the reasons i didnt wait to go with the a7's is because the a5's have the optional addition of the sub 7 subwoofer which i plan to purchase in the near future. the stereo link capability is a nice option even though i am using them as seperately connected monitors. its good to have options and i feel i have been given a lot of options from adam for a reasonable price. if you arent a big time music star or your on a budget go with these if you can afford better you probably arent reading my review. lol close [-]
