So many options out there for Studio Monitors to the point you get option anxiety!
But with some research and help from a great sales engineer Tim Van Syke the 8330A hit the sweet spot with tone and clarity with the Fractal FM 9.

Can't believe with 5 inch speakers they sound big with a great Low end !

The detail, the nuance, and depth that leaped out of these speakers upon the first listen was amazing. These are a major step up from previous monitors...Alesis and JBL. My first listen was Steely Dan's Aja. I've used that as a quick sonic reference for years and was surprise at how many more feathery details appeared. Then I listened to Alan Mearns/Seis Solo, Billy Cobham/Stratus, Daft Punk/Get Lucky, Pat Metheny/Way Up, Gregory Porter/Everything You Touch is Gold, Rebecca Pidgeon/Spanish Harlem, and Polyphia/ABC. From song to song, across genres, I found these speakers were spot on, full and never fatiguing.

I got the GLM SAM with it. The setup and calibration as very quick and easy. The biggest difference I notice was the it immediately shifted everything from just out in front of me to center and pulled some of the bite out of the top. Very impressive.
