Plug into BiX, and you'll hear your instrument with pristine clarity. Highs are silky and open, lows are strong and tight. Your playing dynamics come through, vibrant and true. Trust us: you're going to love the Grace Design BiX.

Truest Acoustic Sound

I was looking for something that didn't color the sound of my acoustic. I wanted simple and clean, and the BiX by Grace Design nailed it. First gig with it and the FOH was thrilled and had to ask me what I used. My monitor mix sounded like my acoustic plugged in. K&K pickup mini in a 20 yeaer old Taylor 614, feedback buster in the sound hole, so much natural acoustic sound. I'd purchase this one again as a spare. The DI is clean and clear. Don't think twice, get this pedal.

Great pre-amp if it fits your needs

The short version: If you need a really clean and beautifully musical pre-amp to get your sound to the board, this is a great DI.

Here's some background on how I am using this. I'm playing this in a loud honky tonk country band where we play amp-free and use in-ear monitors. The main guitar plugged into it is a Gibson J-45 with full LR Baggs Anthem system professionally installed.

Notably, the J45 is known for sitting well in a mix with very little tweaking, and the Anthem is known for the "my guitar, only louder" thing. So even before I bought this DI, I was never using a huge amount of EQ. And because I am playing through IEMs, I have no stage monitors or amp on the stage, so I never much needed notch filters or other anti-feedback tools.

Here's where the box shines. At its heart is a musical sounding preamp with lots of clean headroom, thanks to an internal transformer that bumps up the 9V supply. The highs are woody and airy and crisp without sounding harsh or - worse - plasticky. The lows are full and warm without mud. I played this at a ~200 person club last weekend, and it sounded amazing - everything that I love about my J45's sound, but at PA volumes.

When I do want to do some tone shaping on the box, the onboard DIP switches to move the shelf frequencies, combined with the overall gain controls, give a good amount of control - including over your mids, if you have the know-how to use them. But what I really like is how musical the controls are. For example, on cheaper boxes, cutting the highs sounds like throwing a wet blanket over your guitar and destroys the clarity and harmonic richness of the sound. On this box, that richness doesn't get totally squeezed out. If you have the instrument and the ear to appreciate such things, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

On top of that, the box is built like a tank and made in the USA in Colorado.

So if you don't need bells and whistles, this is the ticket. I haven't tried the Alix that does come with those bells and whistles, but based on my experience with this box, I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade if I need them someday.

Transformed sound!!

The Bix has allowed our acoustic player at church to truly have a great clear acoustic sound. Before it was just being played through a DI. The Bix brought life and clarity to the front and now his guitar sounds incredible!

Grace BiX is Simple & Effective

My experience with acoustic guitar preamps has been unsuccessful—too many knobs, unnecessary knobs, unintuitive to adjust to changing room acoustics or outdoor venues.
The Grace BiX has been effective & easy to make quick adjustments as needed while performing without disrupting the flow of our shows.

Bix

OMG my husband's name is Bix and you guys have me in hysterics. He is also a musician, so it all fits the Bill. I hope no one here is named Bill.
