Amphion’s world-class studio monitors have delivered honest and uncolored sound since 1998. Whether you’re working out of a home studio or you’re a seasoned industry veteran, Amphion reference monitors are sure to impress. The company’s philosophy is to push the acoustic design as far as possible while keeping the electronics simple. Using simplified electronics increases resolution and enables listeners to hear every single detail in their work. For an uncompromising sound you can trust, choose Amphion.

Sweetwater can think of many things that make Amphion studio monitors some of the best in the game. From their sealed enclosures and unique Corian waveguides to minute details, such as crossover frequencies that avoid the most critical hearing ranges, Amphion studio monitors strike the perfect balancing act between honesty and harshness. The result is a sound that allows you to dive into the minute details of a mix without dealing with the harshness that fatigues your ears during long sessions. You’ll also enjoy a super-wide sweet spot, outstanding stereo imaging, and truly phenomenal transparency. If you can’t hear it, you can’t fix it. Go with Amphion and hear every detail of the mix.

Another feature that sets Amphion monitors apart from the crowd is the CNC-machined Corian waveguide. Developed by DuPont, Corian is a high-mass, synthetic, “solid-surface” material with qualities similar to granite or marble. The waveguide works hand in hand with the monitor’s tweeter to minimize distortion and lower the crossover point. Moreover, the waveguide also aligns the voice coils of the high- and low-frequency drivers. This promotes wide, even dispersion for every driver. By using Corian waveguides, Amphion speakers operate predictably in any acoustic space.

One of the ways to get more bass out of small speakers is to use a bass reflex port. While ported speakers certainly provide more bass extension, the turbulence and high-velocity airflow in ports result in chuffing at high volumes. To solve this issue, Amphion studio monitors feature sealed cabinets with carefully tuned passive radiators. Using passive radiators allows Amphion monitors to deliver better low-mid clarity, a more robust bass response, and improved energy transfer. While studio monitors with passive radiators are more complex and expensive than those with standard bass reflex ports, they produce a more well-defined sound with superior clarity — which is what you need from a reference monitor.

Immersive audio environments present different demands than the standard stereo setup. Formats like Dolby Atmos and Apple Spatial Audio require ultra-precise imaging, uncompromising depth information, and perfect phase behavior for your objects to have the most impact. And as your channel count increases, a seemingly small shortcoming in monitoring can lead to a lack of cohesion. So how do you fix it? By using Amphion monitors, of course. All Amphion monitors boast proprietary waveguides, sealed cabinets, low crossover points, and drivers with exceedingly tight tolerances. Those features give the monitors unique acoustic properties that ensure you receive an exquisite, three-dimensional, reference-quality soundstage that’s consistent across every session.

The year 2015 saw the introduction of Amphion’s first bass extension system. These systems transform your 2-way studio monitoring setup into a cohesive, full-range 3-way system. Each system features a dedicated power amplifier with Amphion’s discrete filtering module built right in. The filtering module is fully adjustable, enabling it to fit any studio’s music-making needs. Two bass extension models are available. First, the FlexBase25 is a stereo bass system housed in a single box and placed between your studio monitors. Second is the BaseTwo25, two bass towers that double as speaker stands. Whichever you choose, the force-cancelling driver configuration and high-quality components deliver serious clarity, control, and low-frequency detail.

Amphion’s innovative mindset doesn’t stop with studio monitors: the company also manufactures matched amplifiers and speaker cables. Each precisely matched system combines advanced acoustic engineering with the latest Class D technology to deliver the best possible sound. Amphion’s amplifier lineup consists of the Amp700 stereo amplifier and the Amp400, which offers eight or 12 channels of power for perfect immersive integration. Careful tuning and a proprietary buffer stage ensure the highest synergy and performance with Amphion passive monitors. Amphion believes that amplifiers and power supplies have no business being near sensitive speakers. That approach extends to the One25A active monitor, which houses all its electronics outside the cabinet.
