Available for a Limited Time!

Designed in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Minimoog, the Minimoog Voyager XL is a sonic powerhouse that pays homage to important milestones in the Moog synthesizer legacy. It starts with the heart of a Minimoog. Fat oscillators and warm Moog filters give it that unmistakable Moog sound and the build quality and user interface design immediately let you know that you are playing a high-quality musical instrument.

The Minimoog Voyager XL features extensive front-panel patchability that harkens back to the original groundbreaking Moog modular synthesizers. The addition of a 4-channel CV mixer, 2-channel attenuator, lag processor and MIDI-synced LFO make this a sound design and analog control dream machine. From the current Voyager lineage, the XL inherits a 100% analog signal path with stable oscillators, patch storage, touch surface, pot mapping and extensive MIDI control functionality. To all this, add a ribbon controller and 61-note keyboard and you have a monster analog monosynth built on a 40-year legacy of sonic exploration.

100% Analog Sound Engine
The Minimoog Voyager XL synthesizer is a monophonic analog performance and production synthesizer. Based on the Minimoog Voyager sound engine, it incorporates virtually all of the sound resources and functions of the original Minimoog Model D and Voyager, with the addition of a number of exciting features from Moog's modular synthesizer legacy.

The Minimoog Voyager XL is a very high quality piece with countless extras - right down to the construction, it feels as solid as it sounds. As for the sound, what can I say? It's exactly as you expe... read more [+]ct. Pure Moog.

I've been using it in many ways and it's quickly become my master controller of choice. The feel of the Fatar keybed begs you to! All pots and switches in the traditional section transmit midi and are easily mapped to control similar/same sections of my external gear. I can also port any output of the slaved device(s) through the external in of the Minimoog - opens the door to even more expressive control. Don't even get me started on the possibilities of using it with the Moog Filtatron!

I ordered this with an extra set of colored cables and have managed to find several ways use all of them. I recommend using cold/hot color combinations on source/destination signal paths respectively to make it easier to know what can go where.

As it currently stands, this is the best sounding, most flexible monophonic analogue instrument on the planet. I challenge Moog to now make a polyphonic. My wishlist features for this instrument: Add preset storage of all control pot settings add have the ribbon transmit midi and pressure sensitivity.

Sweetwater staff was very helpful placing my order. Thanks Brian Loney and Hunter Sprenger for the many years of awesomeness. And bravo to Moog for pulling out all the stops on this one! close [-]

Sweetwater Advice

Steven Dilmore
Oh my! My initial reaction to the Moog Voyager XL has been nothing short of pure astonishment. Moog (the classic heavyweight contender of all synthesizers) have really outdone themselves. I absolutely love my original Voyager. But add to it CV patches, a ribbon controller, and another octave, and what you have is the pinnacle of all the synth ridiculousness that can be crammed into a portable analog monster! Routing: Did anyone else notice you can patch the touchpad? The touchpad! Sure, you can do that in the Voyager by diving into some menus but this little beast lets you mult it, sample and hold, and patch it until you have scared the neighbors with your sonic glory!
