Perfect for what I needed.
I use this mic on my Camera and also to do voice overs while editing. Sounds good. Happy with product.
Best On Cam Mic
This microphone is excellent in every aspect. The battery lasts nearly the entire day for my needs, and the audio quality is outstanding. It requires minimal post-processing, perhaps just a touch of compression and EQ, but that depends on what you're recording. Additionally, I use it as a USB microphone for work video calls during presentations. If you're considering purchasing this microphone, don't hesitate. While there may be other options available, I would definitely choose to buy this microphone again if I had to. I've been using it for almost two years now, and I haven't encountered a single issue.
Great Rechargeable Shotgun Mic
Great mic. Audio is excellent. Very versatile as you can use it for DSLR/Mirrorless cameras as well as for recording direct into your PC/laptop. Has multiple features like frequency limiter options, being able to record a "safety track" thats -20 db lower and 1 track thats the dialed in volume. Volume dial is smooth when you turn it. It doesn't click into place at each level you turn it to but it has some resistance to it. Build quality is solid. Charges pretty quick via USB-C and the battery lasts a long time. I really like that it has an auto on/off feature when its plugged into your camera so you don't have to remember to turn it on/off all the time.
Rode Videomic NTG
As usual, working with Sweetwater is really sweet. Sweetwater has become my go to. Easy, fast and great courteous customer service. I love this Mic. It is now my studio mic. Thanks to everybody at Sweetwater . You have a great deals
Just Outstanding
If you are serious about capturing good audio without using XLRs and Pres, this is the one!!!! I had the VideoMicro which is still good but the amount of control you have with this mic is great for any use. It is truly a shotgun mic that you can mount on your camera. It is clear I mean very clear and the battery last forever. Also the fact that you can plug this up to your laptop and use it for podcasts and voiceovers is killer!!!! Make sure you get the optional dead cat, you will thank me later!!
This is the one
I tried several video mics, including the Rode VideoMic Pro. This is now my favorite because it has the USB connection option and it works well in my workflow using Filmic pro for shooting. And I love the gain control that is not offered on other mics.
DSLR, Computer, Tablet, Phone. It does it all.
I'm a mic junkie and have played with numerous shotgun mics over the years ranging from a Sennheiser MKH416 (still own) to a Rode VideoMicro (that's a huge range). I was so happy when Sweetwater got the VideoMic NTG in stock because it was out of stock everywhere, and even the day I received it--it's back to being out of stock.
Let me summarize: JUST BUY IT.
I tested this out on my 2019 MacBook Pro (USB-C), my 11" iPad Pro (USB-C), and my Sony a6500 where it is now being used for filming. It works flawlessly in all situations.
It is very well made, works in any situation you throw at it, and you can even go wireless with the Rode Wireless Go (which I also own) if you need to. It's the one mic you need to do it all. In fact, now that I have this and have tested it out and am thrilled with the results, I'm selling a few other mics I've been using because this replaces them all.
Great Microphone with Great Sound!
I just received mine, pulled it out of the box and put it to work. The sound quality is great and it is easy to use. I use it for so many purposes including Zoom, video, etc. For the laptop computer, it comes with the USB cord. It also comes with the 3.5 to 3.5. If you have a cell phone that is USB-C, you need to purchase an adapter, and those you can get cheap on Amazon. The graphic shows that an adapter comes with it, but it was not in the box. But, the microphone is definitely worth the cost.
LOVE THIS MIC
AN INSTANT PLEASURE, YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE THIS MIC AS IF IT WERE YOUR OWN CHILD
Rodes mic
It would be better if it had an easy usb direct connect to the computer for use with podcasting etc. and it would be nice if we could better know these things before ordering
