Built-in USB audio and MIDI interface with 9 motorized faders
Not content to be just another MIDI controller, the VX80 sports two microphone/line 1/4" inputs and nine motorized 60mm faders. This enables the VX80 to function as a the centerpiece of a music creation workspace, handling all of your MIDI and audio needs - from composing to recording to producing. Plus, an onboard multifunction expansion slot lets you expand your VX80 the way you want - options include a sound module with sample function, an analog synthesizer module, a FireWire audio interface module, and a digital mixing console module.
Touch-sensitive keys and MIDI controls
Like the UF series controllers, the VX80 uses CME's hammer-action weighted keyboard with initial and after touch, and it's velocity sensitive. These keyboards were broadly used by many famous professional synthesizers and digital pianos in the past few years. The VX80 supplies up to 64 controllers of different types, including motorized faders, encoders for data entry, knobs, trigger pads, ribbon controller, buttons, pitch bend, modulation wheel, transport buttons, jacks for pedals, and a breath controller input. All of these controls are programmable. Yet, the built-in U-CTRL maps them out naturally, so you can just plug it in, load up your DAW, and get started.
