Inspired by Richard Wagner's large-scale orchestral arrangements, Vienna Symphonic Library Brass II expands your brass section beyond the standard instrumentation offered by its companion collection, Brass I. Additions include bass trumpet, triple horn, bass and contrabass trombone, contrabass tuba, Wagner tuba, and the gloriously warm-sounding cimbasso. All instruments incorporate single-note and Performance articulations such as Interval Performances, Repetitions, Trill Performances, and more. Brass II also includes "Epic Horns," a massive-sounding sample set of eight double horns that will surely become a go-to for both late Romantic style symphonic orchestrations and high-impact Hollywood action scoring.

A fully stocked brass arsenal
One of the standouts in Vienna Symphonic Library Brass II is the triple horn. In the impeccable acoustics of their Silent Stage, VSL meticulously sampled a premium five-valve Yamaha F/Bb/F alto triple French horn all the way down to A1 in the lowest register. This highly playable virtual instrument is an alluring alternative to the Viennese horn, with a sound all its own. Unique brass voices and massive brass impact are what this collection is all about. For his epic Der Ring des Nibelungen, Wagner composed for an orchestra of immense proportions, including a greatly expanded brass section with (then) new instruments such as the bass trumpet, contrabass trombone, and of course, the Wagner tuba. For the first time, hundreds of articulations can be combined in one preset and on a single MIDI track. Vienna's proprietary Performance Detection analyzes intervals, repeated notes, patterns, and even speed in real time and automatically summons the appropriate articulation or nuance.
