I have now owned several interfaces, and been by and large, unhappy with every single one of them. None of them worked right, or they would crash my DAW, or latency, or all of the problems that you t... read more [+]ypically read about. It really destroyed my confidence in my entire studio. i always assumed that it was my computer (dedicated recording PC) or that I was missing some button deep in a menu that would fix all of this nonsense. So, I had a decent interface, but then the right channel went out. So I called up sweetwater and ordered a new 2 in/2 out, but it was more of the same - the drivers crashed my DAW, could not get it to work at all. Sent it back. I use NTrack Studio 6, but also have Cubase as well. I read on the forum to try to find a trend of success between an interface and Ntrack. I ordered the US-1641. FINALLY!!!!!!! A USB 2.0 interface that just WORKS. I bought it, loaded the drivers, hooked it up to my computer, spent about 10 minutes learning how to use it and voila! Done. My search is over. For the life of me I can not figure out why this journey has been so hard, and why all of these interfaces don't just work. But, the TASCAM US-1641 does work, and every single awesome feature it offers works. This is the only one for me. I am now a die hard Tascam fan after only 2 days of ownership. Very Happy, and thanks to Sweetwater for working with me as well. The mic pres sound great, have low noise and plenty of gain. I think people get caught up in fancy names like "Presonus" or "Focusrite" because they sound cool, I know I did, and that caused me to overlook this awesome gem. Don't be a fool like me, just buy this one the first time and be done with it. close [-]

I've done a couple of 12 track sessions with it and it worked perfectly!! I use this with both "Record" and "SONAR 8.5" and it excels with both programs. I can drop the latency to "lowest" and have a mear 2ms delay and no pops or distortion! Even with v synths! I can't believe how little this interface costs! I would definatly replace it if I killed it...lol! Good sound, easy to use. Only 1 rack space! I really enjoy all the different inputs/output configurations and the fact that its rack mounted. The price is not too bad for all the inputs and the quality. I loved the fact that its a USB connection so I didn't have to install anything else inside of my computer other than the drivers and cubase le 4. I currently use XP Pro and it loaded with no problems. If your on the come-up, get one of these. close [-]
