TransMod is one of the Sonnox plug-ins Sweetwater engineers turn to when they either want a track to pop out or sit back in a mix, without necessarily changing its sound or volume. As fancy as transient modulation may sound, TransMod's controls make this process incredibly simple. To begin with, you'll adjust the ratio control. Sliding it up will bring out the attack noticeably, adding punch to kicks, sizzle to snares, and bite to guitar tracks. If you pull the ratio back, then you'll get a softer and smoother sound, but you'll also bring out the ambience. The overshoot controls the overall intensity of this modulation, allowing you to go from subtle to extreme. The gain control lets you balance your volume, and a touch of overdrive lets you add warmth to the overall effect.
