Small package big sound
I do church worship. I wanted to add a pair of small easy to carry powered speakers to our traveling package. These speakers are truly amazing. Great for spreading sound for bigger rooms. They are also great for intimate settings with or without a powered sub.
For the money this is the right choice.
They sound great. Carry these one time you will love the size to power ratio.
I will be getting two more.
in home practice with my computer music collection and for church servicess
this speaker is just what I needed to increase the volumn of my com[puter speakers. Whta is funny about thit is that i live in a senior complex and my neighbors don not mind my playing because the music is from our era.
Crystal Clear
If you're looking for a floor monitor to pair with any kind of digital amp such as Fractal Audio Systems, Line 6 helix, etc this is the best in my opinion! Audio is super clear and balanced.
Believe it - these are the real deal
I have never given Alto a consideration in the past. I figured it was a cheap off brand, and I always stuck with premium name brands. However, I have been struggling for a long time to find a high quality stereo amplification setup for my keyboard rig that is small, powerful, and versatile. When I started reading the reviews and saw the specs on the TS408, I figured I would give it a try. In the first 30 minutes of using this, I was kind of giddy because they are perfect for what I need, and they sound considerably better than the 12" premium brand speakers I have owned. The specs on these are legit, they really do have bass response down to 50hz and the SPL sure sounds like it's putting out 130db max. The dispersion and transition between the HF and LF drivers is seamless...in fact you might even think they were coaxial they are so balanced. They are very loud and very clear. They work great for my home setup, but I have used them in a large venue as my stage monitors as well and they delivered beautiful stereo sound with plenty of headroom.
Things I don't like:
The bright blue lights on the front of the speaker...way too bright, but easily tamed with a piece of black Gaff tape.
The app seems pretty useless to me, but I found the speaker needs no eq adjustment from the 'EQ off' setting for my ears.
TS408 8" powered speaker
I could not be more satisfied with this little speaker plenty of power and range for average size building
A Perfect Fit !
Who doesn't like a perfect fit?! Our duo. sometimes trio, (bass player add) have recently included a pair of Alto TS408 for use as stage monitors. Bass player declined the use of one. He does not sing and can hear ours "good enough". We play rock pop and country covers. Bars, distillerys, Wineries, picnics, festivals etc. 60 gigs a year. Indoors and outdoors. The Bose L1 Pro32 is our PA for the house. The Alto's are very durable and sturdy. Easy to pack, haul, hookup and position quickly. We use them as a wedge in horizontal position. We tried to share one monitor recently and it did not serve the duo to our liking. Better each person has their own monitor. I was a little skeptical about the 8" speaker but it is plenty loud enough I have the volume set to maybe 3 or 4 position. All kinds of room to get louder. I was not familiar with the Alto brand but clearly my Sweetwater Sales Engineer was and understood our needs perfectly.
Little Power House
I recently purchase the TS408 and am very impressed. All the reviews are accurate. We first used them indoors
and was waiting for our outdoor gig to comment. It was this past Saturday the 29 and we love them. Nice and light, crisp vocals all night long. As a matter of fact some fellow musician's also said how good they sounded and will be purchasing a pair themselves. We're all older now and thank you Alto for making a great product!!!!!!
Awesome gear for a great price
I read and watched several reviews before purchasing these. Great sound and great features accessed through the app.
Great Sound
Alto 408 sounds great, use as PA monitor, and beat buddy drum machine.
Wish there were adjustable tone controls you could manually adjust on the speaker. That being said there are a few Eq curves you can select. Overall I really like it, and well made. Big sound from a small speaker.
Well built light speaker
I been using alto 8 inches for 2 years
Very well built extremely easy to use Very light weight.
I am a Sitar-Player perform regularly at Santa Monica pier. I needed small but powerful systems.
I love Alto TS series.
But Stay away from Alto TX series.

Alto ts 408
Outstanding value well. Made better then the previous models you can tell as soon as you pick one up very clear sound
Excellent but with some flaws
I have a pair of TS315s but wanted something easier to tote around. These TS408s are just as loud but do lack somewhat in the low end and maybe not quite as full sounding. I also have some TX308s that sound pretty good but lack the power but are super lightweight. The issue I have is that I wanted to use them as an easy to setup Bluetooth driven party setup. When using the TWS (True Wireless System??), after a few minutes the right speaker starts lagging and continues to get worse. Turning them both on and off resets it but it's very annoying. Also, the Bluetooth output does not go to mix out so you can not hook up a subwoofer when using Bluetooth (Although I believe this is common with most other Bluetooth enabled DJ speakers).
So as long as you feed them through the normal line/mic inputs, these are great speakers. Bluetooth works fine if you only need one speaker but don't expect to use them as a pair.
Great Bang for the Buck!
I ordered a Behringer 8" but it was shorting out so I sent it back, and decided to get this. I'm so glad I did. This is what I was looking for to accommodate my smaller space and lighter needs. Jay helped me out, and made it easy. I'd recommend this if you're thinking about it.
Big sound in little package.
This speaker packs a lot of great sound, I only use them at the house but it sounds great and just what I needed to replace my passive system and make some room. thanks again to my sales agent for making sure I purchase the right equipment everytime.
great monitor for the price
Bought 2 of these to use as monitors when my band performs live. These perform well enough to even be used as our mains at restaurants and small venues. EQ profile could be a bit better, but for the price this is a really great speaker/monitor.
Great speaker but weak Bluetooth
Great speakers but Bluetooth needs more work.
