This does what it was sold to do - gives you a lightweight bass that you can keep laying around to pick up and practice on a whim. Just plug in headphones and an IPad if you want, and you get decent ... read more [+]sounding bass (quality of sound varies based on the headphones). I got some Bose ear buds which sounded much better than my cheap workout headphones. I'm practicing a lot more, since it's on a stand in my home office, and I can pick it up in an instant - versus going to my basement and plugging in my full-size bass and rocking the house. The neck pretty much feels like the same scale as my full size bass, so it's not like you're practicing on a "toy" or having to re-learn parts (e.g. the "first position" still requires a stretch). I've even taken this in the backyard to practice while watching the kids play. Plan to take it on a plane in a few months, and would take it on weekend trips, where I would never do that with my full-size. I don't care as much about this one as my primary bass, so it's a good kick-around instrument. It sounded surprisingly good when I plugged it into my full-size amp, just to check out what it sounded like that way. Haven't had it for more than a month, so not sure about its longevity -- but so far, seems solid enough. Very good purchase. close [-]
