Plenty of sound

By Scott Stephens from DeArmanville Methodist Church ( Alabama ) on February 1, 2024

We purchased this unit for our new half gymnasium worship center and there is plenty of sound for a PA system. We have not put any instruments on it but the blue tooth works very smooth.

Would buy again

By BB on November 24, 2023 Music Background: Professional Musician

Have and use the Yamaha Stagepas 600BT for several years now and love it for our trio. It's light, sounds good, clear, nice bass, easy/fast to set up/use and tear down. Wonderful for small/medium gigs (however, we did an outdoor 2 hr. venue of over 2 thousand attendance with no problem using a couple of these units). Prefer the Stagepas 400/600T units over the columns. The Stagepas is lighter with more options for monitors, mics, instruments, etc. & nice reverb. Hope Yamaha continues this model.

Don’t hesitate to add this PA to your musical toolbox

By Robert Stuart from St Petersburg, FL on May 25, 2023 Music Background: Musical hack who has been playing too long to be as mediocre as he is.

I can't believe I waited so long to get my PA system. Tony, my sales engineer, helped me select this PA and get something that would cover all the bases. You will not regret buying this PA. The utility is extremely high. Money well spent for a musician who wants to practice vocals, join a band, provide sound support for an event, or listen to music at a relatively high volume via Bluetooth. The fidelity is so good, I've end up using the PA as a stereo more than anything else.

Excellent portable, light weight PA for Solo artist or band

By Stringbabe from Boston, MA on November 18, 2022 Music Background: Professional

We are a trio of 2 guitars and drummer. I also do solo gigs . Highly recommend the Yamaha Stagepas PA over the column type PA for Sound ( balanced highs and nice low end ), and the mixer has plenty of outlets for a band or solo artist. Many of the column type PA's only have a couple , one for mic and guitar, so if you need more inputs you need to purchase a mixer. The Yamaha StagePas has everything you need and cost less ! ! This PA system will cover smaller venues, to larger outdoor gigs of 200 - 300 people. Noisy bars are no problem. StagePas is a no brainer IMO. Hope Yamaha continues to make this PA System. Hope

Best bang for your buck and compact

By Rick Brough from Colorado on October 26, 2022 Music Background: Bassist for a long time

I've used a few of these "compact" systems including the Samson Expedition XP800, the Stagepass 400 and the Fender Passport. The others only have 8" speakers vs the YAMAHA 600BT 10" so they handle the bass much better (though I primarily use mine for vocals and harmonica) & the Yamaha is much louder than it's competition. The controls and feedback suppression are excellent. It is well built and versatile. The monitor out allows separate volume control for additional (powered) speakers.
Do yourself a favor. If you're looking for compact and powerful, buy the Yamaha Stagepas 600. Avoid the Samson and Fender copies. They just don't push and perform like this one and distort or feedback when you push them for outdoor gigs. I know. I had them and sold them to friends who needed something for a home studio, not an outdoor gig.
Bottom line. It's a dependable workhorse. Pay the additional $300 or so & get the Yamaha Stagepas 600 so you're happy.

Like it a lot !

By Busking Betty with "Bak-ta-Bak" on March 5, 2022

Looked for a powerhouse portable PA and this was it for our trio. Perfect for any size venue without the bulk / weight. Use as is for smaller venues or add monitor(s) subwoofer or another Stagepass for medium/larger venues . But honestly....as is with a monitor is probably all you'll need/use for most gigs.

Using for over a year - Great.

By Garrett Stack from CT on May 13, 2021 Music Background: Electric acoustic 6 & 12, and vocals -- part-time local gigger

The Sound is remarkable and clean. Plenty of power. I love the portability and ease of set up. The Bluetooth works seamlessly with my tracks. The monitor speaker outputs can be used as additional sound reinforcement or as monitors. I play into a pair of Mackie Thump 12's. This is a solid product and I highly recommend it.

Great Little Machine

By LOU A. CICCONI from Odessa, NY on January 1, 2021 Music Background: Played my first gig in 1957...And...Every since...Getting old but still kicking... Awaiting my vaccine and will book to October...

Have used mine for a couple of years now. Never a problem. Purchased a second head as a backup but it is so far unused. Often hook it up with both a powered sub & powered monitor and it just honks. Even use it outside with a blues band for car shows. Easy to move with the wheeled covers. Can't say enough food about it. It was a complete surprise, especially after lugging bigger equipment.

I'm Happy

By Bill from Farmington Hills Michigan on December 6, 2020

After doing extensive research on what PA system to buy the stage + 600 seem to have everything I wanted in one good package.
The sound is crisp and no noise.
With 8 channels it works Perfectly!
I do have to add how dissatisfied I am with the mic stand that came with my new sure 58a microphone package.
The freaking thing tipped over and slammed the New mic to the floor. Now I will wonder if it's damaged and the sound quality is not up to standard.

Easy set up and great sound

Love how everything is self contained with good ergonomics. Not too heavy, easy to set up and use. Very happy with the sound.

Yamaha StagePas PA

By Diane T. from CA on August 26, 2019

Used the PA for live performance for the first time the other night. I waited to write my review, as we've only used it for rehearsal prior to this. It sounded great, using 4 inputs total - 2 vocal mikes, my guitar, and backing tracks. We played in a small venue and it was clear and we never had to push the volume up very high. Reverb works great and so does the feedback suppression.
The system is really easy to set up. We have the speakers on stands that we already had. Very portable and compact.
I recommend the Yamaha StagePas 600BT. Glad I bought it.

GREAT PRODUCT

By TucsonGuitarGuy from Southern Arizona on March 8, 2019 Music Background: 50 years playing live, not professional

I have used this system for 3 years in a 4 piece acoustic group (bass, 2 guitars, harmonica, vocals) and it never failes, always put out perfect sound and so easy to set up and adjust. We used it with 2 powered floor monitors; easy, just set it up, adjust all the instruments and vocals in monitors for proper balance and volume then just turn up the mains and there you have it. I am no longer with that group but I plan to buy this system for myself and start solo performances, I know it perform to my expectation.

Excellent system

By TC from Myrtle Beach on December 26, 2018 Music Background: Resort

Great sound and easy setup. Works well for most all moderately sized venues.

Very happy with this PA

By Mike from CT. on April 27, 2020 Music Background: Musician, guitarist

Great product, easy to setup. Sounds very good and can fill a large room. Looking to purchase the subs to go with this next

Impressive

By Randy from Alaska on January 27, 2019 Music Background: 35 years running soundboard at my church. Playing drums 5years. Have put together a band with my wife on keyboard and my grandson playing guitar and singing with me. We have been playing about three years.

The reason I am choosing 4.5 is because I need more time to put the system through all its possibilities. It is what I as hoping for. Quality product from Yamaha. Great sound. Easy to set up and run. Portable. All at a great price.

Solid

By Morgan from Kingston, NY on January 13, 2019

I bought this to replace my now-discontinued StagePAS 300. That p.a. was a road warrior for over a thousand gigs over ten years. So the brand loyalty is strong for me. This 600BT has more bells and whistles and I have faith that Yamaha knows how to make good, small PAs. I like that it has more reverb choices, and the bluetooth will be a handy feature to play pre-show music from my iPhone without it having to be wired in. I've only done one gig so far with this new one, and the volume was pumping. Plenty of power here. Ask me again in another ten years and hopefully I'll have the same to say!

Amateur Musician

By Brian Good from Reading, PA on September 10, 2018

I am by no means a professional and therefore you can take this review with a grain of salt from a novice. But what you get with this package it was more than enough for my needs. I play out about once a month at different venues, bars / restaurants, parties, small outdoor patio spaces, and this fits perfectly for what I do. I'm a solo player (but have had times when I've done a duo performance) and I play guitar and keys. The mixer provides more than enough channels for numerous instruments and mics. The setup is super easy and the entire system is very portable. I get everything I need into my small Toyota Corolla.

I've never encountered a situation where I didn't think this setup not loud enough or did not provide a quality sound out to the audience. Most of the time I set one speaker on a stand and use the other as a monitor. For me, I don't see any issues with the low end bass for my guitar and keys. Vocals come through very clear, and I always get positive feedback about the sound. I normally keep this setup in my basement for practice and it's easy to take down and setup in just a few minutes. The features on the mixing board are somewhat limited, but again, for a simple solo or small group performance it's pretty sufficient.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. I've had this for about a year and don't see myself needing anything more for the time being. This does have outputs for powered sub and optional monitor if you're looking for a more complete setup. For the money I can't imagine you would be able to get more bang for your buck and a quality product.

Part-time Musician

By Theodore John Celaya Sr from Dinuba, California 93618-3604 on July 10, 2018

I recently purchased the Yamaha StagePas 600BT Portable PA with Bluetooth. It was great to set-up and work with it. I only use it for my DAW in my living room, along with all my other musical merchandise that I've purchased from Sweetwater. It gives me great pleasure to work and learn with the types of music I enjoy. There is more information that I will have to learn to be able to function with today's new music as I'm trying Logic Pro X. I'm lost, however, I will slowly learn as I go and have fun, along the way. I am happy that I bought this equipment from Sweetwater Pro Audio. This equipment should last me a very long time because I have no intentions of hauling my equipment as I did, when I was a kid and playing at Dances and scratching my stuff up. It is for my personal enjoyment and I should have a great time as I now am retired.

Home karaoke system

By Chris M. from Maryland on February 14, 2021 Music Background: 40 yr guitarist

We got this system primarily as a home karaoke and secondarily as a means for me to play guitar with CDs at a volume that is amplifier friendly. Knowing that it would be a little low-end lacking we paired it with an EV 12" 1000W sub. Together, it covers all the bases. I would feel comfortable using this as a standalone PA in a small to mid-small club, but nothing bigger - with the understanding that it would be for drums and vocals. Amps would have to be independent. The crossover for the sub is hardwired at 150 Hz, and there is a bit of a mismatch with the sub at low volume. Of course we didn't pick this up for low volume use.

The built-in reverb is completely usable and the mixer tracks just like any other. There is a built-in feedback suppressor that helps given the smaller area we're using it in. If stolen, would purchase another.

Yamaha StagePas - so close

By Dean Gunnarson from WI on April 17, 2018

I love almost everything about the Yamaha StagePas 600 system. It sounds phenomenal (beautiful sound, sufficient power), is very portable, and has plenty of inputs and features for so compact of a unit. I bought one for my school, which I use daily, and I want to buy one for myself but am holding out hoping they will add some features that would make this unit even better and more versatile (appealing to a broader range of buyers). To me, the limitations are three. 1) although there are 4 XLR inputs, only 2 are Phantom Power. My plan was to use 1 solo dynamic mic and 3 condensor mics so I am unhappy with this limitation. The cost to do Phantom Power on all 4 can't be that much more. 2) the compact mixer fits nicely on a mic stand, which if stable, works very nicely. The problem is that the little thumb screw to connect these is a royal pain to work with. Instead of being done in seconds, it can take 5-10 minutes to get it screwed on. Unacceptable. 3) the length of the cords works great for most applications if you place the mixer in the middle of the setup. If you have to run it from one side, the speaker cord run for the far side may be too short. Other than those 3 limitations, I highly recommend either the 600i or 600bt unit.

noisy internal cooling fan

By Scott Hammet from Hilton Head, SC on November 22, 2020

The 600BT has all of the positive attributes cited in the favorable reviews; however, the internal cooling fan is excessively noisy. It has the noise level of a small box fan. I've been performing as a solo act (guitar and vocals) in the bars and restaurants since 1976, so I've had a number of PA amps. over the years. Every PA I have ever owned was quiet and had no extraineous sound being produced by the unit, itself. When I received my 600BT from Sweetwater, I thought I had gotten a defective unit (it can happen) because of the loud fan noise. I sent it back to Sweetwater, and they graciously sent me another one. Unfortunately, it has the same irritating cooling fan noise. It's so obnoxious and distracting that I won't use it. I can only assume at this point that it is designed to have this ridiculous amount of internal fan noise. I only purchased the 600BT System for its lightweight portability, so I still have another PA amp that is absolutely quiet. I'm only writing this review to warn others. Had I seen a review like this one, I would not have purchased the 600BT and saved myself a lot of money and aggravation.
