Yamaha Stagepas 1K mkII PA System
Very nice portable PA system. Surprising bass response and nice highs. Perfect for a solo, duo, or trio in a small club.
Beautiful Sound
Love this speakers. Extremely loud and clear sound. Have been using it for a few months now and would recommend it!!
Best I've Heard
I run my vocals, acoustic guitar and backing tracks through the StagePas. The backing tracks are normally drums, bass with sometimes prerecorded electric guitar, piano or ever brass. The sound quality is really exceptional, especially the vocals comes through crystal clear with absolutely no smearing between the instruments. For me the bass is nice and tight and more than sufficient but might be found lacking by some more "techno"-oriented users. Sound-checking with this unit is a breeze as one can play a track, walk around the venue, and fine-tune all aspects of the sound via the cellphone app. Although fairly pricey this unit is more than worth it.
Stagepas 1k
Its probably the best speaker you can get
ive taken it thru many gig with my saxaphone and it never gave up
this speaker with the midas mr12 mixer sounds amazing!!!!!!
P.A.
Sounds great. Happy I bought it from Ben @ the Sweetest Water in town!
Yamaha excellence
I looked at a lot of column PAs and am glad I settled on this one. I pair it with a Yamaha DXL1K that provides a second output column. The pair is perfect for running my keyboards in stereo with a few mics or acoustic guitars. It's loud enough for small venues while being compact and light enough to easily transport (especially with the companion Yamaha DL-SP1K transport dolly). My full rock band uses the pair for practice along with a separate mixer for additional channels. Sounds fantastic, as you would expect from Yamaha.
3 Years, Lots of Shows, Solid Every Time
This unit never sounds loud. Sometimes we have to park this thing right by a cafe table with patrons (hate doing it but they chose to sit there).
Somehow they're still able to comfortable converse while we still cover the room with sound.
You'd be forgiven for thinking this unit isn't loud. It isn't. But what it does is wash a very large area with very comfortable sound pressure.
If you're trying to use these as mains for a rock band in a loud club, I think you'll be disappointed. If you only play coffee shops with hard floors and walls, this unit is too much, too heavy, and too expensive. The old Bose L1 will work.
BUT... if you're bouncing between indoor and outdoor gigs. If you aren't the main attraction but rather a performer at a winery/bar/etc, this is a jack-of-all trades.
We often run it outside off a Jackery 300 battery so we can park it well off to the side and not run power. It only pulls 34watts. I've never needed the on-board mixer, but it's nice to know if our digital mixer goes down we have some modest redundancy.
Yes, you can go cheaper. We use some Harbingers on occasion. They sound very good for the price. But I trust Yamaha's QC and overall build a bit more.
KILLER SYSTEM!
This is really all you might ever need as a vocalist, instrumentalist, or a small band!
.
[NOTE: I gave this 4 stars because it does not support 48v phantom-powered condenser mics. Certainly not a show stopper, but that seems possible to include in a unit like this.]

With just over 1,000 watts of power, you're in the small 'acoustic' venue or the 'Big House' with over 500 people in the club! You can just be a musician in the band with your own 'rig' that says all it needs to say onstage, joining it to the band or house system for perfect versatility! I'm working with an acoustic duet, a church, and a classic rock/blues band that plays high-end engagements. I have a MONSTER electric guitar rig using effects, MIDI, and a Roland (GR-55) guitar synth. The sound is just crazy! I can play virtual bass guitar, piano parts, strings, horns, and of course, *guitar* (my main instrument)! I have a vocal harmony box as well. It all sounds clear and powerful. The 'bang-for-the-buck' is here as well as the 'bang-for-the-pound!' (You aren't going to get that fat sub with anything lighter, trust me on this...) When I got this, I got rid of my two, EV 15" powered speakers and my Mackie mixer! Now, everything; my guitar, mic stand, mics, GR-55, MIDI control pedal, (Behringer FCB 1010), and Stagepas 1K go right in the car, (PLUS a passenger)! This is *everything* I need from street busking to intimate, 'cafe' venues, to concert stages; I'm DONE! Also, with its low power consumption, I can run it off my car's power inverter and rock the beach!
1st time used
Wow used for 1st time last night and boy did it thump!! Was impressed with the bass. Only complaint is the "preset" eq. It didn't give me the control or sound I wanted for my gig... however the app that pairs with it you can go in and set up your bandwidths just took some time to dial in.
