Jackson Soloist SLATTXMG3-7 Solidbody 7-string Electric Guitar at a Glance:
This 7-string speaks with authority
7-string guitars are a breed apart. The Jackson Soloist SLATTXMG3-7 sports a 26.5" scale that keeps your low string sounding nice and tight; this also imparts a unique sound to the rest of the instrument. Jackson's 7-string design and construction techniques (3-piece neck, strings-thru-body construction) all contribute to this Soloist's unique, authoritative, and eminently musical voice.
Compound-radius fingerboard gives you the best of both worlds
The Jackson Soloist SLATTXMG3-7 solidbody 7-string electric guitar sports a compound-radius rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets. Down low, your fretting hand will appreciate the 12" radius thet keeps things nice and comfortable for natural, relaxed chord work. Up top, a 16" radius lays it all out flat for effortless, low-action high-speed runs and monumental string bends without fretting out. You get the best of both worlds with the Soloist SLATTXMG3-7.
Neck-through design and EMG active pickups for incredible tone and sustain
The Jackson Soloist SLATTXMG3-7 owes its great tone and sustain in part to something you won't even notice at first glance: a neck-through-body design. The three-piece through-body maple neck, paired with a rosewood fingerboard (adorned with piranha inlays, no less) doesn't just join the body; it's actually part of the body! This configuration contributes to sustain in a big way, since the entire guitar is structurally integrated. You also get two great-sounding, high-output EMG active humbuckers.
Your weapon of choice for menacing tone and wicked good looks
From Def Leppard's Phil Collen and Rick Savage to James Root of Slipknot and Stone Sour and Derrick Green of Sepultura (just to name a few), some of the most formidable axe-slingers in rock have used Jackson guitars to generate their fretboard fireworks - for good reason! Jackson guitars are designed from the ground up for monster tone, amazing playability, and rock-solid reliability every time they take the stage or hit the studio. Of course, it doesn't hurt to look good, either; if you're looking for a visually stunning instrument to impress your audience and show that you mean business, you want a Jackson!

by AlltoEnd420 from Buffalo, NYThis guitar is born to shred and that's no joke! I've had this now about a month now and couldn't be happier. The EMG pickups sound killer and have a great sustain. The compound radius fret board mak... read more [+]es this so easy to play it's ridiculous. I like the neck through body design cause it seems to keep the intonation tight. The tuners are great and you can make those small adjustments to get you right in the sweet spot. I thought this 7-string would be a lot heavier (weight) but its not which is cool. Also comes with strap locks which is a must when your swinging your axe around. Fits in my 6-string hardcase as well.

Music Background: Guitarist
I've played 2 gigs with this bad boy now and it really does bring the pain! It's got that low end growlyness with the nice bright highs. Def gives some added depth to my overall sound compared with the 6-string. I run this through a Randall RT 100 head and cab. For the type of music I play (thrash- metalcore - hardcore) this is a great addition to the arsenal.
The customer service at Sweetwater is exceptional! The guy Tyler called me immediately after making this purchase to give the 411 on shipping/quality control and this dude knows his stuff. Really couldn't ask for more, great people and awesome service!!! close [-]
