Zoom SGV-6 Directional Shotgun Vocal Microphone Reviews
Zoom’s SGV-6 shotgun vocal mic microphone is designed to home in on your voice and your voice only, capturing every note with no bleed from other instruments or ambient sources. While the SGV-6 is ideal for any type of vocal capture — from singing on the stage to broadcast — this mic is the perfect pairing for Zoom’s V6-SP and V3 vocal processor effects pedals due to its three separate supercardioid microphone units that reject all outside noise. Whether you need an on-site mic for interviews or you’re looking to do some wild vocal effect experimentation, Sweetwater recommends the Zoom SGV-6!

Not that great
I bought the Zoom vocal harmonizer and also got the mic that is made for the pedal. I hooked it all up and ran it through a PA. Yes, the mic is extremely directional as advertised. The problem is the mic is way too harsh and bright tone-wise to be considered a decent vocal mic. I had to eq the crap out of the tone to kill the harshness. I wound up instead hooking up a regular Shure SM58 mic and it worked great. I would advise not getting the mic even though recommended as a match for the Zoom unit. It just does not produce a good basic vocal tone.
Not even decent
This mic IN MY OPINION, is not even close to satisfactory. It's definitely not a professional mic. It should not even be sold. It should come free with the unit so you wouldn't feel obligated to return it or give it a bad review. Just go ahead and purchase the Shure SM58 from Sweetwater. You'll be 1000% happier.
