Powerful audio in small package
I bought my 1st pair almost 8 years ago, (still going strong but changed the battery on 1) last year. Used it for busking outdoor, outdoor small community concerts, stage monitors in churches and concerts, studio musicians' monitors. I had stressed it and blasted it and even left it on for days, it just kept going. I recently bought its smaller brother Eacape plus to supplement it.
Great sound, good bass and most of all clarity. A no regret purchase for its bang for buck value.
Perfect little speaker
I wanted a speaker I could bluetooth background music into so I could have accompaniment while I played tunes on my banjo. It also needed to be rechargeable as I play where there is no access to electricity. This baby fit the bill perfectly and, as always, Sweetwater's customer service and my Sales Engineer Matthew are incredible!
Absolutely LOVE IT!
I absolutely LOVE this product so far!!! I did quite a bit of looking around before purchasing. There doesn't seem to be too many battery powered options out there for what this one offers. Perfect for street performance or street ministry! I also love how you can connect a bluetooth device and even sing along with your favorite songs karaoke style. Pro Tip: You do need a Puff Guard for the mic. Not included.
Two suggestions: I wish it had a better handle like most amps or speakers like strap handle. And I wish it had 1-2 more XLR plugs for more mic/line-ins. A 4-channel battery powered speaker would be perfect for street performers flexibility. That would be amazing!
Samson Expedition Express
Sweetwater has come through again with excellent, wonderful service. Everyone I talked to was pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. The Samson Expedition Express Portable PA system arrived in the mail way before I expected it.
It is more powerful than the past series and the battery seems to stay charged longer. I was going to return it because part of my problem with the previous model was resolved but I am glad I didn't. For a tiny little light weight speaker it really has a full sound. I used it outside for an event and I was very pleased how well the sound carried. It is a great speaker at this price point.
handy little unit
has enough power for busking and is easy to carry
On the board walk. At the breach.
I got the Samson Expedition Express because it gave me the fredom to play out doors electricity free. I mount perfectly on a speaker stand. Or I use right on the ground. It has a clear play back of my backing tracks. People can hear it and it sounds great to them. I've never use the mic and mic cable. Because they are of lower duality. Cable when moved is noisy. So they wind up being gifts to friends that are just starting. But I liked the speaker so much I got a second one. And I can keep them in my car trunk with out taking to much space. And use them when I need them.
Portable PA
I had to get something for an outside gig at a farmers market where electricity was not available
this was the most reasonably priced system that I could find, so I ordered it
It arrived right on time and I had a few days to mess with it prior to the performance
The microphone that comes with it is suitable for speaking but I used a Shure 58 to enable a better vocal
I attempted to use a Condenser mic, but, this PA doesn't have phantom power to support
I suppose that's the biggest drawback It's light, easy to set up and is enough for a vocal with acoustic plug in
The battery is good for 20hrs.....so way enough for a couple of days of playing out
I'd recommend it for accomplished musicians to be heard out in a crowd
Neat device but using all channels tricky for guitarist
Channel one is a good high output Channel you can plug right in with a guitar or anyting. Channel 3 which is either Bluetooth or auxiliary is fine for a cell phone or MP3 player but Channel 2 is rather Limited. I plugged my Looper and guitar into Channel 2 and there's barely much output. So you have to possibly need a preamp for the second Channel depending on what you're putting through it. A keyboard would be fine
