The heart of a classic amp inside
Each pedal in the Character Series is loaded with the tonal DNA for a specific style of guitar amplifier. By simply twisting a few knobs, you can build those sought-after tones or hot rod your own. From rare vintage classics to roaring modern icons, every variation is delivered in the distinctive voicing of that amp style. The intuitive amp-like controls let you get your hands dirty from the get-go to explore decades of blistering tones.
SansAmp technology, built-in speaker emulation
Being a genuine SansAmp, each Character Series pedal is far more than just a stompbox. Or plug them into your guitar amp to take your tone somewhere special.
Proven technology, great products
Since the first SansAmp was unleashed back in 1989, Tech 21's has developed an impressive line of products to cover every application. Each SansAmp product is still hand-built in the USA using the best possible materials and exclusive components, such as our smooth custom actuators which are licensed to other major manufacturers. Tech 21's range of products are developed with a critical ear for tonal perfection and an open ear to our customers' needs.

Enter the TECH 21 Character Series. I own the "British" and the "Liverpool" and good lord do they nail the sounds direct. The character knob is amazing. Go left and you are in JTM45/Plexy heaven, go right and you are in JCM800 mayhem which nails anything that goes from Judas priest to late 80's hair metal. I have no other words to describe it. Going direct is amazing. It's warm, full and has a very full sound that will really breakthrough even in a heavy mix. I am recording my new album entirely with these pedals. close [-]
