The Perfect Match of Music Creation and Production Software
When you register Propellerhead's Reason and Record together, you don't get two separate music creation programs - you get one incredible powerhouse of music production potential. That's because, unlike other programs that work with one another, Reason 5 and Record 1.5 fuse together into a single, comprehensive production environment. That means you get all of the powerful synthesizers and samplers from Reason with the mind-blowing effects and processing power of Record in one multiple-rack environment! Want to retune your Rex loops through Record's new Neptune pitch correction module? No problem! Now all you have to do is drop them in and wire them up. With Record and Reason together, there's nothing you can't do!

When you install Reason and Record together, they both use Record's environment. The user interface is a graphic masterpiece of analog-style signal routing and simple multitrack editing. At the center of your virtual control room is a magnificent SSL 9000k mixing desk. Not only does this console look like the real thing, but it sounds as realistic as many dedicated SSL emulations. If you're a guitarist (or simply like using guitar effects) then you'll love Line 6's contribution to the Record environment. You get both a guitar and bass Pod, as well as a selection of amplifier and cabinet models.
Each channel has three parts to it: a sequencer track for automation, a rack device, and a mixer channel. New to the sequencer/arrangement track is the amazing new Blocks mode, which allows you to create your music in sections (e.g. verse, chorus, bridge, etc.) and arrange them logically from there. In the hardware rack emulation, you can instantiate insert effects including signal processors, EQs, and effects. You can also use any of Reason's devices or instruments. Learning how to rout virtual signal in Reason and Record's environments is highly-intuitive. With the push of a button, you can flip the virtual rack around and access the virtual module's back panels and cables. Once you've set up your insert signal path, you can save it and easily recall it in the future.
Reason 5 provides you with an impressive selection of sound modules. You get subtractive, wavetable, granular, and modular synthesizers, as well as simple mono-timbrel and complex multi-timbrel samplers. You also get a sample-based drum machine with intense rhythmical content. Reason 5 also comes with two advanced rhythm machines, the Kong Drum Designer and Dr. OctoRex loop playback engine. Plus, live sampling turns every sample player into a full-fledged sampler in Reason 5. And Reason 5 still comes with an enormous library of sounds and preset options for its virtual instruments, so you never have to make your own patches. However, each of Reason 5's sound modules has advanced signal and control options to satisfy anyone who wants to go beyond the stock sounds.
